I bought a bag that was a cross body satchel large enough for baby stuff. I wanted something that I would continue using post baby phase too- and I do! Love it. And it was significantly cheaper than a diaper bag.
Anyone else buy a baby bag that isn't a diaper bag?

I sewed a tote bag to use as my baby bag. I would make the pattern again for myself.

I used one of 2 dickies tote bags I had from when I was still taking classes... smaller one for regular day & the larger one when we make a day trip oot.

We use a day pack from REI. Love it! So easy to carry, large enough to hold anything, but cinches down for smaller loads. Gender neutral, several compartments. AND we got it for free with a promotional gift card!

I have two Petunia Pickle Bottoms - a boxy backpack and a wistful weekender. DH has a Diaper Dude messenger bag.

I just bought a purse organizer and put it in my existing bags.I've never had to bring a ton of stuff when we go out, so it works perfectly.

I mostly used a Fjallraven backpack that I already owned. I also used a tote that I already owned when not using the backpack. I never bought an actual diaper bag.

I used a Lug Puddlejumper for most of my kids' infancies. I loved it as I could carry a small arsenal of diapers, a package of wipes and changes of clothes. It was big but plenty of room.

When DS was an infant we used a Skip Hop Duo that we got at our shower. It wasn't the best, but it worked well enough and DH didn't mind carrying it since we got it in black.
DS started daycare at 5 mos and we use an old Timbuk2 messenger bag that I had for his daycare bag. It has worked great.
Now that he's 2 1/2 yrs I just use a JuJuBe Be Quick which holds a travel wipes case, 2 diapers or pullups and a travel size diaper cream. I keep it in my car at all times to avoid being out and about without a diaper.
For longer trips I use a small sports duffel bag.

I bought an old medic bag from an army supply store. It's great for both my husband and myself, has lots of pockets, and was only $22.

Like @boots, we've never brought a ton of stuff with us when we go out. We used a backpack we already had, and also often used a small double-sided wet bag we received as a gift.

I always carry way too much stuff and use a regular diaper bag (skip hop studio). I should pair down but I feel like I need to have everything all the time.

I just bought a tote that I liked. It doesn't have a million pockets but a year and a half in and I'm not complaining
