DH has to go out of the country for work when I will be 36-37.5 weeks. If Baby V decides to make an early arrival during that time, DH probably won't make it back for the birth. My parents live very close to us, so I'm not too worried about making it through delivery without him. My bigger concern is recovery with a new baby if he's not here.
Did your SO miss the birth of your LO? What were the circumstances? How did it go?

My FIL was not at the birth of any of his 4 kids. I don't think he even met them till they were home. He really doesn't like hospitals and at the time wasn't a good husband.

My exhusband was deployed when I delivered my oldest daughter. She was 2 months old when he came home and met her. He was able to call once while I was in labor but I hated him at that moment and refused to talk to him even though he was calling from Iraq lol

Bump!
DH left yesterday morning. We went over our plan, that if I let him know by 5 PM my time and he can get a seat on the next flight (one per day), he can be back the following afternoon. We also decided that if I go into labor a week from Monday or later, it's not worth it for him to come home early.
