My LO is 6.5 weeks old, and every week I've tried to wear her in the Beco Gemini, and she HATES it! I'm so bummed, but am hoping she might eventually warm up to it? Did any of you have the same issue?

I definitely think that some do! My first took to it right away, but my second still doesn't totally love it. Just today I tried her in the ring sling that I just got, and she is happiest in it--hoping she will take to the ergo when the times comes too, but she did NOT like to be worn in a wrap of any kind!

Yes, she screamed every time we tried and wouldn't stop until we took her out! She finally warmed up to it around 4 months.

@betsyboop: yup! My son is 4 mos and still doesn't really care for the beco gemini either. He LOVES it when DH carries him in it though.
He prefers the maya wrap so much more though. And he's liked the wraps from day one. But the SSC's he wasn't always fond of. I hope as he gets bigger he likes the Beco more. It was too expensive for him not to like it!!

My oldest hated anything but the sling at first, then she was okay in a wrap for a bit (at 3 months?) then the ergo at 4.5.
Wonder Baby has been in the ergo since day one and always liked it, but she was a less fussy newborn.

Yes!!! He hated it until we got the Gemini. Now we do pretty well with it.

@Coco Bee: Exactly, the Gemini is too expensive for her not to like it!
Thanks ladies for your input. Sigh, life would be so much easier if she would just take to her carrier...maybe I'd actually be able to get some housework done! I'll keep trying!

With Lala, she took to it instantly. We've really had to work with M. to get her to like it. She likes the soft wrap, but still doesn't care for Ergo. We'll get her there!

My lo loves to be in the moby wrap and has loved it since birth.

This scares me! I really, really want to baby wear and don't have the money to try out a bunch of carriers. I wish I knew what s/he would like!

LO liked the moby for the first 2 months, but since then she has hated it. She loves the ergo, though. Luckily, a friend loaned me the moby, so I don't feel bad that we only used it for a short time.

Yes, she really didn't like being worn. I think it didn't help that I was uncomfortable too. We bought the ergo baby insert but ended up only using it a couple of times because both LO and I didn't like it. She's 6 months now and is kind of ok with the carrier.

My LO never warmed up to it. She could take it for about a half hour at a time, and then she was done.

@artbee: Darn! May I ask how old your LO is? I'm wondering if I should keep trying or just throw in the towel and try to sell the carrier now?

Yes, it definitely took a little while and at first he'd only like it if we were outside and I was moving. Wearing while doing dishes or housework? Forget it, mommy, I want to move, move, move!
ETA - he started loving it around 2 or 3 months. Now at 6.5m he'll stay in the Ergo on my back forever.

@betsyboop: she's almost a year. But I stopped trying earlier than I wanted to because it doesn't help with my migraines. Can't hurt to keep trying!

yes! we started with the Ergo, he HATED it, hated the infant insert. then I tried the Bjorn, which he would tolerate for about 20 minutes before freaking out and flailing/crying. he was okay in the sling for the first 4 weeks.
he's almost 7 months old now and is okay in the Bjorn - I think because he can face out and likes to look at everything. and I do use the Ergo sometimes when I know we'll be out for an extended amount of time because the straps are more comfortable. I would keep trying it.
