Or did they just pick them up/take them from you? Most people would ask, but some people would just take and it would drive me crazy. So I always ask if I can hold a baby before I just grab!

I don't think anyone I know would take the baby from me without asking. I can't think of any instances where someone picked the baby up without asking DH or I either.

People always ask. In fact, I usually offer, becasue I can see that someone wants to hold him but doesn't want to ask.

She was so clingy to me that she was nearly always in my arms, so everyone had to ask.

People usually ask. My son is older now though, and when he wants to be held he puts his arms up. Some people think that's an invitation to hold him.

People usually ask but I readily offer T up to family/friends.

Most people ask or I offer. I found DH's older relatives in Spain would just take though. We rarely see them so it's not such a big deal.

Everyone but MIL asked and she would take even if I was nursing. Ugh.

Pretty sure everyone would ask. And I would totally say no sometimes!

My cousin took LO out of DH's lap a couple weeks ago, and was visibly irritated when I made him go get her back when it made her cry. A- LO is at a stage where she notices who's holding her and gets upset if it's a stranger, so ffs don't just snatch her from behind (when she's happy and playing with daddy!) with no warning to her. B- If she were crying because she's hungry or something, I'd just give you the bottle. But I'm not leaving her to cry just because you want to hold her, when all she wants is to go back to daddy (or mommy).

@MrsSRS: if I stopped to switch sides or burp she'd grab the baby. It was awful.

I usually offered before they asked. I don't recall anyone just taking her.

Most ask, I think one older woman family member "took" from a cousin without asking but it was family.

I don't even remember. I think a lot of the older family members just took. I didn't care. It gave me a break!

Family usually takes and it doesn't bother me. Everyone else asks.

@oliviaoblivia: My MIL takes her from my arms without saying anything, sometimes from behind me so I'm extra surprised. Would you take a muffin from someone's hands without asking? The book they're reading? Why would you take someone's child without saying a word? It's so weird and creepy. At least put your hands out and say something, like "come here."
