We have SO MANY pictures if everyone holding my LO in the hospital. Grandparents, aunts, etc. - everyone made sure to get a picture. I didn't realize till months later there is only one of me holding my LO in the hospital. I don't know why it bugs me, but it really does! Maybe because I don't think of the birth as their memory, but mine?
Does this bug anyone else?

Yes, this happened to us as well. Everyone took the opportunity to have a photoshoot with LO! We do have a few of me, but this will definitely be something I keep in mind for next time. It's like...I just gave birth to this child, a little credit here?

Yep, everyone had pictures taken holding my daughter but thankfully no one except DH took pictures of me holding her. I was not looking my finest and wouldn't really want those unflattering photos of me floating around lol. The birth is your memory. The first time each person held your beautiful newborn is their memory to capture.

No, DS was getting oxygen and had IVs, and I was sick for 4 days in the hospital after giving birth. I'm actually pretty sad that we didn't get to have 'visitors holding the baby' pictures.

Nope...I'm looking forward to people being able to do this next time! DS went stright to NICU and S was gone, so this is finally everyone's chance!

Yes, but just like @MapleMoose: I didn't look so great so I didn't really want pictures of me. I gave birth to R so only I have a memory of that moment!

Yes! This happened to us, not only in the hospital but also at all the recent holidays. I had to specifically ask people to give me my baby back to get a photo with her. It drives me nuts, although I'm not really even sure why. I blame hormones.

My husband took dozens of pictures of me, each one worse than the last--- as in, me within seconds if giving birth, my hair matted, my gown down on one side, looking pale as death and huge as a whale.
I actually hate that he won't delete them because I prefer to remember the birth of my Lo the way I was experiencing it rather than through pictures where i tend to focus on how awful I look.
We do have nice pictures taken of the three of us, me and LO, and Him and LO the day we left the hospital. We all posed outside (there's a nice skyline at the hospital ) for some "going home from the hospital" pics that I really like.

I have pictures of myself with the baby and I look horrible! I like looking at the ones of all the visitors with him. It makes me happy to see how many people came to meet him and loved him from the start.

I can see how it would irk you to not have many pics of yourself with your LO. It's a momentous day that many don't think to document. However, would it make you feel better to remember that it was an important day for your family too? That was the day that their beloved grandchild and wonderful neice/nephew was born? How sad it would be for your LO that his/her grandparents and aunties were kinda "meh" about her/his arrival!

We didn't have many visitors (which is what I wanted) and I was actually the one who took most of the pictures, so I'm fine with those. But I have way more of Dh holding her than me which annoys me a teeny bit. I do have a couple of me and C that I love though. I looked not so hot- broken blood vessels in my face from pushing, dirty sweaty hair, but changing the photos to black and white in an app works wonders

Yes, but it doesn't bother me! I love seeing the pictures of LO and aunt, uncle, friend, etc.

We have a few. At first, I hated looking at them because I looked AWFUL after 4 hours of pushing. But now I think they are really sweet.

@maybebaby: haha, maybe that's it! That I'm like, I'm the one who gave birth!!
@Grace: I think maybe it's because I mainly associate it with my SIL who is posing and posting photos on Facebook for likes and stuff like that.
@catlady: haha hormones - agree.
I think I just find it odd. I mean, I have pictures of me with nieces and all. But those are just candid ones from when we were playing. And I'm going to have another niece/nephew any day now!! But I couldn't picture going into the hospital and saying, "hey! Get a picture of me and the baby!"
It's one of the reasons I don't want visitors this time around. I don't want it to turn into a mini photo shoot again while I lay half naked and bloody and ignored in bed.

@septca: I pushed for three hours. There are a few really blurry ones our doula took when they laid him on my chest. I look like HELL. Maybe that's it,,,jealous of moms with easier births who are sitting up and smiling and not looking like they were hit with a Mac truck!

We didn't allow visitors, and my doula took all the pics so my husband and I could focus on taking in the moment. It was amazing and I have zero regrets!
PS - I looked like hell, but I'm still happy to have those pics

Yep. I broke my tailbone delivering, so I couldn't sit down for three days after giving birth. I could only side lie to nurse/snuggle which seemed weird to take pictures of. So there's a photo of literally every person who came to visit LO in the hospital holding her, except me.

No, because we barely had visitors.. I wasn't ready for them and I guess that's not how dh's family does things. We didn't have visitors til a couple weeks later.

Yes, but it's because I took all of the photos! I want my LO to see that everyone we know was excited and cared about their arrival.
