My hospital doesn't use clothes. They diaper and swaddle, and that's it. But even if they charge us for stuff like that, it's not worth fighting over for us. We just have a flat hospital stay co-pay, regardless of what procedures are done, or what supplies get charged.

My baby was swaddled and diapered (NICU) they did put her in an outfit once that wasn't ours but that was it. We did not get charged seperately for that.

We weren't charged. They put DS in long sleeve kimono shirts and hats, plus a swaddle. They didn't allow outside clothing to be brought in and put on the baby til discharge, where we put on his going home outfit.

No clue, but our hospital requires theirs be used as they have sensors in them for their security system in place to protect against kidnapping.

Our hospital didn't offers any clothes. We brought and used our own. Our LO never left our room, we dressed her ourselves.

@T.H.O.U.: ours (at the tour) was like "well if a shirt just happened to end up in the diaper bag we wouldn't come looking for it.." Lol. I took one, it had the hospitals name.

Ours just diapered and swaddled. There was never any clothes even presented as an option. I think there was a flannel nightie thing in the bassinet drawer, but it didn't look very cute/comfortable. It was super hot though, so I just left her diapered most of the time and used blankets as necessary. I only dressed her to take her home.

No charge, we even got some of each to keep. The ankle security bracelet wouldn't have fit with some outfits.

No idea! She was basically naked though and swaddled. The second day they put some l/s shirt on her and we were told we couldn't take those.

My insurance denied my entire birth, initially, so I received a bill close to 3/4 of my yearly income. Granted, it was an error that was soon remedied, but I did see a breakdown of all the expenses. We were charged $1,900 in "miscellaneous infant care", which was in addition to the tests/screening, pedi exams, and shot she received. Sooo....I'm guessing she wore some expensive onesies and diapers, while there?

ETA: She was mostly just in a diaper and a hospital swaddle. We put her in one of the provided, side-snap shirts on the last night of our stay, before putting on an outfit we brought from home in the morning.

It was a flat rate no matter what. My nurse packed everything in sight for me when we were leaving. If it wasn't nailed down, she stuffed it into my bag!

When DD had to be readmitted to the NICU, I brought our own kimono tops. One night I noticed that she had a different shirt on.. her nurse had accidentally thrown her shirt into the laundry because she didn't notice it was a different top.. I had to search through the dirty laundry to find it. I liked having our own stuff (even if it was just a white disney kimono top), but it was a pain in the ass.

It is a flat rate on matter what. You might as well use their stuff because you're paying for it anyways!
Even if you ask for a detailed bill and breakdown of your labor & delivery stay, it will not break down the clothing versus the diapers versus the hats...
It will say something along the lines of "antepartum supplies"
