They never told me LO's scores and from reading another thread, it seems like a lot of others weren't told either. Do you know what your LO's Apgar scores were?
I wish I knew. Do you think the pediatrician has them in their file? I'm really curious!

We were told that they'll tell us if we ask, but don't normally volunteer it just because we don't even realize baby is being "tested" when they are figuring out the scores.

I asked while we were still in the hospital - turned out from photos I took that they were also written on the white board in my L&D room.

I had intended to ask but I had a longer than normal recovery because of bleeding so I just forgot.
@FriedBabyMama: I've actually looked for them in photos!

Yes, after I was all put back together and they brought him back to me the L&D nurse told me he scored an 8 at 1 minute and 9 at 5 minutes.

I don't think they told me right away.
The first score was 2
The second was 8
I know they were written on our hospital sheet because the pediatrican asked to see it at our first office visit (I think he was a week old then).

I wasn't told. I've always wanted to know but now that she's 6 months I figure it doesn't really matter.

Yup, ours were 9 and 9. The pedi asked us what they were, so I don't think she would have found out if we didn't know.

I'm so jealous of those of you that know! I guess it really doesn't matter in the long run. I could probably guess pretty well as to what they were.

No and I looked at all the hospital paperwork and couldn't find it written down anywhere.

They told us, she had a 9, then a 10. They said it was pretty rare to have a ten.

No one mentioned it but they were written down in my LO's red book (the red book is the child's health book that we take to every doctor's appt from birth up until they are 5 years old). LO had a 9 on both Apgar tests.

no but the hospital had electronic medical records so everything went right into the computer and then the pedi was able to see it in there

My baby was born distressed and the code team immediately came in. I heard them call it out, other wise I wouldn't have known without reading her chart. At birth and at one minute her apgar was 1, It was 3 at 5 minutes.

Yup. She was whisked away first thing though, so once she came back, they told me as many positive things they could to make me feel better about it. She was a 9/9 I think.

We weren't told what they were but the info was in the paperwork to give to the pedi. 9 and 9!

9/9. A friend's bro is a pediatrician and said they never give 10s because a newborns coloring is always a little off.
