It will only let me vote once, but many of your options apply to our situation. *During* the weaning process, DD was not sleeping as well, was more attached to me, and started waking up earlier than normal. But since we have weaned completely, the opposite has been true. She is now on a very regular eating and sleeping schedule (sleeping better and putting herself back to sleep better than ever before) and is emerging from her mommy-neediness phase. She is now more attached to DH than ever before. She is also more cuddly with both of us than she was when she nursed. I am not sure if this is an age thing or a weaning thing... but she used to get all her cuddles during nursing. Now she climbs in our laps for milk or books, gives hugs, etc.

Weaning has been a non-issue for DD (15 months). I've been shocked by how un-affected she's been by the process. No issues in sleep, affection, no changes at all really.
I'm the one having the harder time.

@MrsMccarthy: I haven't actually had any hormonal trouble, or engorgement for that matter, iI'm just kinda bummed that she doesn't seem to miss it. It's only been four days so it's new still but I miss it.

We recently cut down to two sessions per day and honestly LO has been a terror. Some days I give in and do an afternoon nurse because she is losing her mind and nothing I do distracts her. I'm encouraged by pp saying that it gets better. At least sleep hasn't changed for her.

Weaned at 14 months and no issues or changes

Completely weaned at 19 months this past summer, he was a total boob monster at a year and we just gradually reduced nursing sessions until he stopped asking- he really didn't seem to miss it by the time he was weaned.

He started sleeping better this summer, he has had the occasional middle of the night wake ups about once a month (but many more now that little brother has arrived).

Definitely a significant increase in the bond with Dad- they really became close buddies, and we were working on that transition with the intent of needing it later when #2 arrived and during pregnancy exhaustion. Not 100% sure how much is weaning and how much is him walking and talking more and being more interactive. This has probably been one of the best benefits during weaning, he still loves Mom snuggles and has the Mom preference when hurt or scared, but wants to hang with Dad a lot too!

We weaned very slowly from 11-13 months. I think because it was so gradual there was no real change. Although, he did start STTN at 12 months, but I don't think it was really related.

This is interesting to read... I'm down to one session (morning) at almost 18 months and I think I'm going to drop the last one tomorrow. I wanted to wait until spring, and I think it finally feels like spring now! @MrsKC: I'm glad it went well for your LO - I think J won't have any problems, but I am worried that I'll be sad!
