With both DS1 and DS2 we actively TTC... we were lucky to have an easy journey to pregnancy both times, with a minor chemical in between.
We're a maybe baby 3 family and taking the ntnp approach!

DD1: NTNP for a year
DD2: TTC. BFP first cycle, chemical. Tried again next cycle and got another BFP. Voila!

Yes, kinda. With this pregnancy we actually knowingly stopped all BC precautions and had sex during what I thought was my fertile window on purpose - but no temping or anything like that.

Yes for all three pregnancies (some more actively than others.)

In was charting to prevent for 2 years, so I was very familiar with my cycle. When we decide to have kids I asked my husband whether he wanted to NTNP ( I would stop charting altogether and just let things happen) or if he wanted to go guns blazing into it (Temps/charting, OPK's etc.) because I could not handle the middle ground.
My husband chose Option B, being the practical man that he is since he believed it statistically improved our chances of concieving quicker.

I voted yes, but it depends on what you mean by "actively--" I didn't temp or do opks or chart aside from using ff to keep track of my period and estimate fertile windows

If by "yes" you mean have lots of unprotected sex and track my period, then yes. But no temps, opks, cm, etc.

Yes, after two years TTC, I'm 6 weeks 5 days with our first. Probably our only because I never want to TTC again.

Very strictly and consciously worked to prevent pregnancy, both before and after TTC and having LO. The only time we weren't using multiple layers of protection were when we actively tried to get pregnant.

For DD - yes, although not for very long
For DS - I was too afraid of having a second LO to actively TTC, but one night I said "oh, let's just see what happens" when DH reached for a condom. What happened was DS

Yes for our first.
I think purposely having sec without protection and hoping it results in a baby counts as TTC, without temping or charting or whatever. I did temp and chart but I don't think that would be required to say you are trying.

It depends on what "actively" means -- I was off BCP and we weren't using any other method of protection. But I hadn't started tracking ovulation or anything. I still feel like that counts as TTC, generally speaking.

Lo1 - nope because she was a surprise baby
Lo2 - yes, it took 15 months to get a sticky baby with a mc at the 12 month ttc point.

DD1, yes.
DD2, no. We were preventing but timing was thrown off, so it was accidentally perfectly timed for pregnancy. Stressful,
But she's been the best surprise!

Yes both times. Second time with the help of lots of medical assistance! (Testing, Monitoring, medication, IUIs, etc)

No. LO1 was a happy surprise and LO2 was planned but conceived on our first try.

Yes, for all three. Honestly, as soon as DS hits nine months, I would love to have an oops. I am not a fan of baby making sex.

Yup! We were NTNP for #2 when DS turned 1 years old, but when we still didn't conceive when he was 18 months, we were actively TTC.

Yep, both times. Both kids were completely planned. DS #2 was big time planned because it became about age gap. We had to make a huge decision to have another and make sure that the age gap wasn't too large for our liking.

Yes for both When we decided to try for #2 (eeeeeek!) we took a much more casual, NTNP approach in the beginning, but wound up having to be much more "active" about it in the end.

In my mind, NTNP is actively TTC since you're knowingly not using birth control and having sex. I was actively TTC all three of my pregnancies, I wasn't charting but had a pretty good idea of my cycles and when my fertile window was... and purposely had sex during that time.

Kinda, but tried really hard not to 'actively' TTC. I had switched to using NFP as birth control, so when we decided we were okay with getting pregnant I kept temping because I was used to it but tried really hard to ignore my charts.

Sex without protection is trying IMO, so yes we were trying, no temping or anything but trying none the less.

@mrsjyw: DH and I NTNP from April-July, have been actively trying since then. TTC#1.
