I went, could have done without. All my friends that I was really good friends with in HS that I haven't seen in a long time and would have liked to didn't go, and my best friends that did go, well we see eachother all the time and could have just hung out and not paid so much money.

Nope. I was at a wedding I couldn't miss. I sort of regret it though! Between the two options I made the better choice, but I think I set a few life goals for myself with that time line as the end point and I achieved them so it would have been fun to show off and there are some people I'm curious about that I don't see on facebook! But I'm also sure it would have been super awkward so maybe I was spared. Plus it was like 2 weeks after my miscarriage and I think I would have been extra depressed by seeing all the pregnant ladies and ones with kids.

No...I hated high school. I definitely would have rather gone to my college reunion, but missed that b/c I got stuck on a business trip where my flight was canceled.

I was about 35 weeks pregnant when my 10-yr reunion rolled around. It was summer and I was bloated like crazy - not something I'd want to impress my friends from high school with. So I skipped it and don't regret it at all. Thanks to FB, I pretty much know what all of my friends have been up to and most of them are just establishing their lives and families. I think going to my 15 year reunion will be much more fun, since much more will have happened at that point.

I'm pretty sure I signed up to go, then they cancelled it because of low RSVPs and then planned a smaller event and only the organizers invited who they wanted there. Very high schoolesque!

No. It was in the summer (more than several years ago) and I didn't want to waste vacation days going home to attend.

@.twist.: Um, our small town is a MESSSSSS. Town of 400...lots of redneck sort of stuff going on. A good handful of pregnant chicks at prom, that kind of stuff The school's saludatorian sells phones at AT&T lol

I will probably go to mine (next year).
Fun story: my aunt and my mom went to theirs. I think it was like the 50th anniversary of the high shool so all former graduates were invited. Anyway. My aunts ex high school Boyfriend was there. They've been dating ever since!! (My aunts husband had died a couple years before the reunion)

@blackbird: LOL. Oh man. At our 10 year there was a total of ONE pregnant girl and ONE with a baby! Nobody else had kids and people were juuuust starting to get married. That's the DC area for ya, I guess

Nope and I was very happy not to! I hated high school (but loved college).

Nope - I was living in Australia at the time as a backpacker and sure as heck wasn't going to waste my money on heading home for a reunion! My 20th is in a couple of years and if I can coordinate it with a visit back to the States, I'll attend.

Nope. I was 40 weeks pregnant, one day past my due date, and it sounded like it was going to be lame. I don't regret it.
Also, I don't like a lot of people I went to school with.

@JoJoGirl: Oh wow! Ours was just....hillbilly, LOL. That school *smh*

@mediagirl: haha one of my co-workers told me to eff off this morning because I was all like "Man, I must be getting old" and she just turned 52. LOLZ.

I went to ours and it was poorly organized, therefore very few people went. It was a formal dinner for $95 per person. The after party at a local bar was much better. It had a better turn out than the expensive dinner.

@Lindsay05: I was going to say I wasn't invited to mine (I just saw a picture of like 15 people having the "reunion" on Facebook). But then I was to embarrassed to admit it!

Yes b/c my friend wanted to go really badly and needed to crash at my place. It was put together via Facebook. During the contacting of people that's when I met my husband and we started dating just before the official reunion. We graduated in the same class but never hung out (I yelled at him at prom, tho). So... in the end, it was the best decision I ever made

I did and I was skeptical but it was So. Much. Fun!!!! It was open bar for a couple hours which helped loosen everyone up haha.

I didn't go....but now I feel really old because my 10 year COLLEGE reunion was just last year......

@Ginabean3: you just made me realize my 20 year high school reunion is in 3 years. Holy monkey.

@hellobeeboston: I just told them booze is required. haha jk.... kinda.
@Ginabean3: haha noooo. My intention was not to make anyone feel aged.

@LuLu Mom: I planned mine too! But for a large class, 450 or so. I wasn't the President, but nobody was stepping up, so I did. I was glad that I went/planned it. It was a hotel type thing and I think around 100 people showed up?
But that was YEARS ago now...20's coming up.

Didn't go to mine, although my high school doesn't do the typical 10 yr reunion. What they do do is every few years they hold a "Come Home" year, which means people from all ages that typically live out of province come home for a week long reunion. The second to last one corresponded to our 10 yr reunion, so there were a big group from my class organizing something. I see my best friends from high school every year when I go to visit family, and didn't feel the need to to go home when it was inconvenient for me, just to see people I didn't care for even in high school.
I did go to my 10 yr college reunion (also I skipped my 5th - we'd just gotten back from our honeymoon and saw most of my college friends at the wedding) and had a blast!

Lol the same exact thing happened to me today, except I got an email about it. I can't believe it's been ten years!! I'd like to go, I'm still very close with some of my friends from high school and I think it would be fun to see everyone. But I live far away now, so we'll see how it pans out.
pomegranate / 3577 posts
Nope! I don't know which one I would go to. I went to three different high schools. The high school I graduated from, I only attended my senior year.
Plus, my ten year high school reunion has come and gone more than seven years ago...ha!

We went to our class reunions. I wasn't too happy about that fact that my dh and my reunions were so close. We had a great time and we got to spend time with friends that we hadn't seen in a while.

Class of 2005 WHAT WHAT!!!
Ours is supposed to be this year and I have heard absolutely nothing. I would go if we were having one and we could afford it.

No. I live in my hometown and occasionally see old classmates throughout the year. I went to a big high school and most of the people who went were not people I wanted to see. It was poorly organized, and none of my old high school friends planned on going. I may set up a mini reunion among old friends during the holidays next year to catch up with them.
persimmon / 1436 posts
No but I had just had a baby that month. I might have gone otherwise. I like most of my classmates from our small town but don't run into them often when I visit my parents. DH would not want to go to his.
pear / 1750 posts
I did not, I live out of state. I wouldn't be opposed to going to my 20 year though (in 5 years). I didn't have a great HS experience but I'm friends with a few ppl on Facebook that I didn't know well back then and it's fun to see how they turned out.
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
No, I can't even point out my classsmates. I was only at the HS I graduated from for 1.5 years.
