My mom just called me, one of her roller derby teammates needs someone to entertain her kids during practice, so it's sitting duty for me tonight.
I loved babysitting when I was in high school. During the summer I watched my nephew while my sister taught summer classes. Now I occasionally sit for acquaintances and family friends.

I used to baby sit my cousins.
We've only left our LO twice since she was born (10 months old). I put her down for the night and DH's best friend stayed at our house until we came home.

I used to babysit for my 9th grade science teacher. He used to play volleyball every Tuesday and Thursday for some local men's club and I used to tag along and watch his son while he practiced. It was great because he used to show me favoritism during class. hehehe

When I was 12, my little cousin was born, so I babysat him a lot. Now he's 10 and a holy terror, but that's another story.
We don't have a LO yet, but I know my sister would want to babysit and I'd definitely trust her. I don't know yet about anyone else.

I babysat for several of my neighbors. So far, only my parents have babysat LO. But I'm happy to let any of my relatives/in-laws and most of my friends watch her.

I never got to babysit anyone, which was fine by me. I was usually too tired from school and lessons. But I had my first job at age 15 so there was no time.

to answer your question, i only babysat for family, mostly my little brother and sister, but occasionally cousins.

I created half-page ads and stuck them in the mailboxes of all of my neighbors. I had tons of clients all around the neighborhood for years and years. I made a ton of money.... and this was all pre-high school, because once I entered high school I started in on real jobs. I've always liked making money.

I didn't babysit much, just a few times. People keep saying their kids would make good babysitters for lo in a few years... but that's not going to happen. We have enough adult family members here to babysit.

I only did a little for older kids/my little brother.
We will probably have family members or a local high schooler/college kid.

I took the Red Cross babysitting class when I was 11 and was regularly babysitting from age 12 on. During college I nannied part time for 3 different families over the course of 6 years. I LOVED IT and really feel like it will have helped prepare me for motherhood when that day comes! I haven't thought much about who would babysit for us.. I suppose that depends on where we are living when we need one. If no family is around then probably a college student with a babysitting background similar to mine.
