I want to create a gmail account for my LO, but she isn't born yet, so I obviously don't know her birthday.
In addition to that, I've read that minimum age is 13 to have a gmail account, so they'll lock you out. I've also read online that you cannot change your birthday in gmail!
What the heck? I want to make it, but don't want her to not ever be able to change her birthday if she needs to.
Do you think they'll make that changeable in the future?
What did you do, if you made one?

Could you just make it your birthday? In the future if/when you need to tell her the birthday associated with the account, hopefully she can remember that!

I just made two for Evan today. I used his birthday, but my birth year, and made a note of the information in my folder where I keep all my password information.

I just signed her up, firstlast@gmail, and used my birthday. hopefully in the next lot of years (before she uses it regularly for herself!) they'll allow changes to your basic info!

@regberadaisy: well I wanted to make sure she had one for future use that didn't have to have a million numbers after it, lol. but also for me to send her emails and photos/videos, as well as other family members, for her to read later.

I created a gmail account for her so she would have one. A few with her name were already taken so I created one with her first, middle initial, last. Hopefully she wants it someday. If not, oh well.
I used my birthday. I don't think it matters that you can't change it?

Yes we did and we use it to send emails and photos to the grandparents, they love it.

@regberadaisy: I have a friend who created emails for her los, and asked family/friends to write letters to them as they grow up. I think it's so sweet. They'll have a whole arsenal of love when they start using email!
