I actually didn't cry after either of my LO's were born. I felt emotional, because there were a million things running through my head, but didn't shed any tears. I always imagined I would, but then again I'm not a super emotional person. DH didn't cry either, but with our first I think he was s little bit closer to that point than I was.

Yes. Until she cried, i didn't really believe it was happening. I think he did too.

@Bao: I did. It was that really tired, emotional crying because I was worn out and so happy he was finally out and in my arms! I'm not a person that cries easily either, so it surprised me, but when it comes to anything with him, I'm an emotional mess

Oh yes. I'm a big time crier though. When she was crowning, they had me reach down and feel her hair and that's when I started. It was like "OH MY GOSH, it's a real baby and she's almost here!!" Then, I lost it as soon a I saw her. Dan actually cried even more than I did!

No tears, just fear. She wasn't breathing. I remember everything was quiet, so quiet. No one was speaking, like we were all holding our breath. I asked DH to tell me what was going on and why she wasn't making any noises because I was being stitched up and couldn't see anything. When she did cry and her color returned it was pure relief.

I expected that I would, but I didn't. I was too exhausted to cry! That said, I did cry later, when I was alone with her and it finally sunk in that my sweet girl was finally in my arms.

I cried unexpectedly. Until I actually saw her I didn't believe I was having a baby. My SO didnt cry. I think he was in shock.

I big ugly girl cried. But I'm a very emotional person. DH didn't cry but he says he was close...I've never seen him cry. He's not emotional at all

I don't think I did. It was more like disbelief, like oh! She's here! I cried later, and I might have cried during labor a bit, but not when she was actually born.

@Foodnerd81: I felt the same! I cried later, but my initial reaction was shock and relief that the pushing was over. I think I was the last person in the room to realize she was out!

I thought I would but didn't - I was so exhausted and happy she was there but it all felt surreal. Dh did though, which I didn't expect since he's not a crier!

Yes! I barely remember but it was a long labor and the tears were of relief and wonder to meet my son.

I cried when my first was born but not the second. With the second I think it was in shock! It happened so fast!
DH cried both times. Only handful of times I've ever seen him cry.

Nope! I cried for the better part of my labor because my epidural wore off but I was too shocked to cry when he was born. I got a little teary eyed when DH did when he first held him though!

I teared up but didn't cry. Delivering the placenta was really painful for me so I was sorta distracted by that!

I did not. I was overwhelmed with JOY and happiness. We were TG, and I was just exclaiming, "I knew you were a girl!!!" ... My husband started sobbing as soon as her touched her head. He caught her (I delivered on hands and knees), and was crying as he held her for the first time and told me she was a girl. It was sooo special, and I REALLY wish we would have gotten it on video!

No, he had a collapsed lung and was taken immediately, I was scared and yelled at DH to go with him.

Yes! So many tears of joy & relief! A little from fear too because I felt like I couldn't breathe due to some of the meds from my c-section.

Nope. I'd gone through 36 hours of labor and an emergency c-section. Plus I was having a bad reaction to the anesthetic that made me shake uncontrollably.
My DH cried a little bit, and for a long while after the birth, I thought he had teared up at seeing our baby for the first time. It turned out he was crying because of me and the awful state I was in.

I don't think so? I have dry eyes, so it's hard for me to cry, haha. But I probably did something like it. Ami remember a lot of gasping and saying "my baby!" and holding them.

Yes. My eyes welled up and I could barely see anything while they were lifting her to my chest. I didn't think I would, but I was overcome with a flood of emotions and love.

Nope, too exhausted from 2+ days in labor. I didn't cry until a few days later.

As soon as a nurse said "He has a head full of hair!" I started to cry.
Then they pulled him out and I heard him cry and I seriously was bawling, sobbing, ugly crying to the extreme. I was so happy though. Haha but I did not anticipate myself losing it like that.
I think my OB was worried. When he was stitching me up he was trying to reassure me everything was okay. I said "No I'm happy!" And he sounded relieved. Haha

I think I cried more tears gearing up to have him. I had a medically necessary scheduled c-section and I was scared out of my mind when my husband had to leave the room for the spinal meds. I mean, I was almost hyperventilating I was so freaked out. By the time DS was pulled out, I think I was just all over the place mentally that I didn't actually cry.
