So, my 10 week old baby has now dropped down to one night feeding from two, which is huge progress in my eyes;, however, I'm finding my breasts to be engorged and I'm not sure what to do. I've heard that even pumping it just a little might encourage it to produce more milk. So, is this just something I let pass? I'm super afraid of getting a breast infection again if I leave it for too long! I'm wondering if my LO can actually sleep through the night, and that it is I that wants to feed him to rid myself of the discomfort! It's like I'm hovering over him while he sleeps waiting for him to fuss for food! How did you ladies deal with this? I've heard some say their LO just suddenly "blessed them" with 10-12 hours of sleep, but I keep wondering how their breasts handled this sudden blessing!
However, it's my left breast that is the one that is super engorged. I can't decide whether the right breast is undersupplying, or whether the left one is oversupplying! >_< Glad to hear it only takes 1-2 nights to adjust though!
I'm now down to one feeding, but last night, I let him sleep through the night and was too worried about my rock-hard left boob to sleep for myself!!! Every time he made a noise, I got up and hoped I could feed him, but nope! He just decided to sleep 'til the morning. I know, I shouldn't complain! =P
