I loved them when my mouth was parched but I was too nauseous for water. Ice tastes better at the hospital!

Definitely, especially since I was constantly vomiting and they wouldn't let me have anything else

I was also vomitting during pushing, so ice chips were a savior!

Didn't have any during labour, but in the maternity wing there was a lovely big ice dispenser.
(I definitely turned into an ice cruncher while pregnant. Have t stopped yet. Ahem.)

There is something magic about hospital ice I never had any while I was in labour but when I go visit new moms, I get a cup for mom, and a cup for me LOL

They were super helpful when I had oxygen that made my throat dry. The nurses showed DH the family lounge with food and ice chips.

Dunno, never had any. I always pick some kind of juice that I wouldn't normally buy to sip on and keep myself hydrated during labor.

I never went into labour but OMG they were so good after my c-section! I wanted to take the machine home with me!

I kept getting pissed because I was SO thirsty and those ice chips weren't doing anything to help.

No. I mostly drank coconut water while I was in labor. I drank *a ton* of coconut water.

I kind of remember them giving them, but I was so spacey! I just remember being sooooo hot!!

I loved ice chips during labor! I think the nurse was annoyed with me asking for a cup every hour, but I didn't care at the time. I needed my ice chips to get through labor.

Eh, I could have done without. I wanted something with flavor so bad. I had GDM and remember actually being excited my BS was 50 so I could have a grape Popsicle.

I swear they gave me heartburn. Everything did by then though. And the nurse wouldn't give me a tums!
The ice machine was broken when I was about 6-8 cm and DH was begging staff to go and get some from another unit but they were way too busy so I just drank water instead.

I work in the OB unit of a hospital and I LOVE our ice... I'm sure I'll be asking for some while I'm in labor!

Loved them! I was slightly anemic so even before labor I was loving ice chips. DH said that he asked the nurses for ice so many times they even just told him where the nurses station was so he wouldn't have to ask anymore.

Yes - ice chips were my best friend during labor! I really loved the hospital ice, it was the kind that was really soft and crumbly (if that makes any sense?)
