I got drunk but not trashed. I'm a light weight so I think 3 drinks will get me drunk. Haha. Hard to believe but my favorite drink at 21 was tequila. Yuck!

I did, but on my 19th, since I'm Canadian! It was the only time I couldn't remember things, like how I got home. I never did that again!!

It was a work night so I got drunk but not super drunk! We went out to a local place, had margaritas and rode a mechanical bull!

i was never a big drinker. I don't think I even had a drink on my 21st..

i had my first glass of white wine. it was gross. i didn't finish it, and i haven't had any since.
GOLD / cantaloupe / 6703 posts
Nope. I didn't drink anything for a few more months, and even then it was just a few sips of wine.

Ugh yes. I hadn't eaten all day because I just moved in to my apartment for senior year of college. I lasted about 45 minutes.

Yes, I was out with my husband (boyfriend) at the time, and we went to a bar that we knew all the bartenders at. Hubby told them it was my birthday.....big mistake! I don't remember much of that night

confession: i had a miscarriage the day before my 21st birthday (a whoops'a'baby with my ex, but still extremely painful). so yea, on my 21st birthday i got drunk. sad and mean and drunk. it was not a good birthday for me. my only regret is that i didn't get drunk enough not to remember it.

On my 18th birthday (because I'm an Albertan ) I had three seperate parties. I didn't get bombed at one of them, but again I had been drinking on the down-low (or so I thought!) for a couple of years at that point so it wasn't surprising. Everyone else at my parties were worse for the wear- one of my girlfriends ended up with alcohol poisoning unbeknownst to me!

Yes. Trashed, bombed, loaded....use your favorite word, that was me. That was me through college, actually. It was pretty funny going into my favorite bars and saying, "Today's my 21st birthday!!" and getting eyeball rolls from the bartenders who had been serving me and my fake id's for 2 years....

yep... not passed out drunk, but having a good time drunk. i actually went on a road trip to toronto for my 21st. which is ironic, because the drinking age there is only 19.

I don't even remember what I did on my 21st!

Yes. It was just me and my DH and we were in Jersey (we are from Seattle) and so we went to this ritzy little town on the shore and went to multiple bars and restaurants. I ended up puking into the ocean! hundreds of dollars later we were both so drunk we had no idea where we were and no idea how to get home. Haven't gotten drunk since!

Nooo... I went to a bar at midnight on my birthday and they wouldn't serve me alcohol - I guess there is a law in my state that you can't have alcohol until the business day on your birthday. There was some college thing called "power hour" where people would try to drink as much as they could in the hour between turning 21 and the bars closing, and a couple years before I turned 21 a guy died from alcohol poisoning as a result....
So my actual b-day was on a Sunday - I wasn't going to get drunk on a Sunday. DH took me to Olive Garden and I had some wine. That was it

I was like the perfect amount of drunk on my 21st. My 22nd, though? Total hot mess. I was one of the first of my friends to turn 21, so they all got me back on my 22nd.

I didn't drink at all on my 21st (I worked at a church camp, wasn't even an option). 25th, on the other hand, was a long, hard night.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Nope! My 21st was on a Sunday AND January 1st. All the bars were closed and all my friends were hung over anyway.

No... I only had one drink. It was pretty uneventful because I had just broken up w/ my boyfriend of 3 years and I lost almost all of my friends in that breakup (since they were friends w/ both of us)... But every birthday after that has been a party!!
nectarine / 2690 posts
No it was on a weeknight. So we went out for Mexican food and I ordered a margarita. The server didn't card me until SO told him it was my birthday that day! But, I had drank before, it was just nice to be able to legally order a drink (which I hadn't done before, I was too chicken to try to buy before I was legal)

On my actual birthday I had one drink, a margarita. My family threw me a huge party a few days later. I played beer pong with my stepdad, husband, and my bffs husband. I got pretty tipsy that night.

Yes I was very drunk, hungover for 2 days drunk, but I did not get sick. I was the first girl in our group to turn 21, so all the guys took me out...bad idea there were no girlie shots. But they took great care of me, and made sure I got home safe & my guy roommate checked on me every hour to make sure I was okay.
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
Nope, I honestly don't remember what I did for my 21st!
GOLD / pomelo / 5167 posts
Not at all (but 21 is not important here, because legal drinking age is 18 - but got smashed at my 18th birthday)
Since I've been with DH I haven't gotten drunk, with the exception of my birthday (the year I got pregnant) boy did we have fun!
pineapple / 12526 posts
Nope, I had the flu. We all sat around my friend's living room playing Apples to Apples all night.
I more than made up for it on my 22nd.
