I was researching schools for the kids the other day, and hadn't realized that most kids go to "middle school" now!
<< Junior high schools are for students in grades seven through nine, and middle schools are for students in grades six through eight. As a result, middle school students start high school in ninth grade, and junior high students start high school in 10th grade. >>

I went to a "junior high school", not a middle school. Here's how it worked for me back in the day:
ELEMENTARY: K-6
JUNIOR HIGH: 7 - 8
HIGH SCHOOL: 9-12
I think where we live now though, everyone goes to middle school. I just looked and my son's elementary school ends after grade 5. I always thought elementary school was K-6! I guess everything has changed since last century when I was in school. Here's how it would look for my kids:
ELEMENTARY: K-5
MIDDLE SCHOOL: 6 - 8
HIGH SCHOOL: 9-12
What about you: how was your schooling split up between schools, and what will it look like for your kids?
