We had a great day. Spent too much money (party supplies, Costco, and Target) but we had fun as a family. DH is finishing up dinner for us. I am exhausted! Probably will call it an early night. So excited tomorrow is DHs morning to get up with R!

We did! Baby slept in, had breakfast together, went for a nice long walk, and played. My husband is working the overnight so I"m on my own now (babe is asleep). Probably going to have a beer, ice cream, and watch some t.v.....maybe I'll get motivated to work on a sewing project.

@Smurfette: Nice that you get to sleep in tomorrow! My husband should be home around 7:30 AM, so if my daughter is still sleeping then he will take her and let me snooze a little longer before he goes to bed.

I accomplished everything I wanted to do! Zumba, laundry & clean the whole house! Am now exhausted and in need of wine!

Noooo .... LO took three naps today. 28 minutes. 34 minutes. 23 minutes. The horror.
I had a long to do list and hoped to be productive but, nope!
watermelon / 14206 posts
Yep! We found DH's old game systems (SNES, Sega, Gameboys, N64...) and have been having a ton of fun with them and DS all day.
We did get some cleaning done, too...that's what led to discovering DH's stuff.

It was fine. DH got up with R at 6:30 to let me sleep in but then she shrieked at 7 so I got up anyway. I did 25 minutes on the kickboxing bag so I'm proud of myself. Yay for sleeping in tomorrow!

@Dandelion: We love our N64! Zelda and the Mario game (where you collect stars) get the most play. James Bond is fun with friends.

@Silva: he has been sleeping in his crib for a few hours the first chunk of the night. Which is nice because then I sleep too! Last night and the night before were pretty terrible. I don't think I slept at all Thursday night and DH only did because e slept on the couch. I think it's teething, but I also think it might be the end of co-bedding for us
LO is just so active in his sleep these days! Somebody is always getting kicked, or he's awake and crying
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@cmomma17: Yeah, we decided we were done co-bedding last weekend. I have crazy nerve damage in my elbow from sleeping stiffly with my arm tucked up and under the pillow (because she sleeps right up against me). So...that was the end of that. She was starting to have a hard time sleeping, too- like being so close to me made her want to nurse when she was trying to sleep, if that makes sense?
She is still nursing 3x a night, but everybody is sleeping better for the sleep that we do get. And the pain in my arm is starting to go away!
She does join us in bed around 5AM and snoozes, and I"m hoping to hold on to that a little longer because its so sweet. I will say, though, last night I was sitting in a rocker, holding her and putting her back to sleep after nursing, and it was a very tender moment. I'm trying to appreciate those moments rather than wish them away.
Maybe your LO will sleep a little better if hes in his crib? Is the crib in your room? Ours still is, although we plan to move it out around her first bday.
honeydew / 7811 posts
@Silva: we had moved the crib out but now I want to move it back!
partially because when I go to bed alone I don't wake up at all when LO cries! I think that's how sleep deprived I am! DH hears him and gets him, but still!
I feel your pain totally! I have seriously injured my wrist because of how we sleep! I have a brace I'm supposed to wear but it makes it too hard to carry LO around so I just suffer!
Our babies are growing up too fast and I hate these changes, but we all need a little sleep!
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@cmomma17: maybe if you move the crib back it won't feel like such a big transition to you? and yeah- you deserve sleep. its okay to make changes to ensure you sleep better.
I love this age though- it makes me excited for her as a toddler, etc. because I feel like I can really see her personality shining through. Now that I'm a little less stressed about sleep (she's been doing really well with naps) I feel like I can enjoy her more.

We were so lazy today! E let us all sleep in til 730 and we didn't leave the house! So awesome. I cohoes for the week and we played

@Silva: definitely! LO is super fun when we are not battling sleep. He's always laughing and his latest skill is clapping!

We had a productive day running errands. It's a bit hectic with two kids but always an adventure. We even brought home Bob the Great White Shark...

Yepp we did!! DH let me sleep in until 8, we went out for breakfast and the kids both took a long afternoon nap and I got to wash my car lol.

Exciting day!

Great! I took DD1 to ballet class and then I went to the gym, got a haircut, and did errands. So DH had the girls for most of the day and we all met up for dinner.

@Dandelion: so fun. my dh found his old sega genesis a while back and we had too much fun playing sonic and home alone haha.
We had a good mix of lazy and productive today! Stayed in bed late, caught up on DVR, cleaned the basement and our overrun dining room, then got take out and watched a movie and netflix

Yes! We went out to lunch as a family and then my DH took R so I could go get a pedicure and shop. We reconvened in the afternoon for a family nap...
and I just finished Chinese food and have ice cream waiting. Seriously? Typing that all out made me realize I'm pretty lucky.

@cmomma17: R did 45 and 35 but surprisely wasn't super cranky just some moments.

I had a long day! DH has been gone since Monday morning. He was supposed to get home at 5:00pm, but his flight was delayed (of course). He got home at 7:30 just in time to read M her bedtime story. I am pooped! Watching the SAG awards now.

E woke up pretty early, but I made D get out of bed too, so I could make us a nice weekend breakfast (runny eggs over roasted asparagus, biscuits and bacon). When E went down for his first nap D and I napped too, and D got up with him when he woke up and let me sleep a long time. I'd normally be a little annoyed at sleeping so late, but I've been running a major sleep deficit this past week, so it was needed.
I got another "survey for interest in interviewing for a position" letter in the mail today, for a place in the town we're planning on moving to sometime this year. This is the second letter I've gotten in about two weeks (but the first place was over an hour drive from here, and would be even further after we move...salary is a bit less but I think it's higher paid after gas is factored in).
We were supposed to go see one of D's bosses play in a band tonight, but the place they were playing was packed, so we left. I was grouchy because I was really hungry, and we ended up going to a BBQ place where I had the most amazing burger and pile of fries drowning in malt vinegar (today is my cheat day
)
E was pretty good today, too, which was a relief...he wouldn't take a second nap, so when we were out to dinner he'd been up for 7 hours already, but he was pretty chill.

Yes! I had a relaxing acupuncture/abdominal massage session, A played really nicely with her daddy while I was gone, then we Skyped family and saw our baby nephew on screen for the first time. And my mastitis is responding really well to the antibiotics, yeah!

@blackbird: 730!! Can you have E come talk to R. She is back with this 530 nonsense

My kid slept in until ten thirty! I was shocked. He also took a good nap for us and we did a ton of yard work. We kept him out way too late last night so I guess he had some to catch up on. We went out to dinner with friends and kept him out late again so hopefully he will repeat tomorrow ! But wouldn't be surprised if we got an earth morning wakeup call tomorrow.

We threw LO her first birthday party today! It was an exhausting day, but everything turned out beautifully and girl was a total rockstar - smiled, laughed, and hammed it up for the camera all day long. I'm one proud mama!

It was great! C slept til 8, hung out with DH and drank coffee and played with C, and went to Target/Sbucks by mahself and it was glorious. C napped like a champ, and was happy as can be while we went to the grocery store and the library.

I had a wonderful Saturday! DH let me sleep in until 10 while he played with LO. We had coffee together and then I met a girlfriend for lunch. LO napped peacefully and then we all made a trip to Target for necessities and a birthday gift for a baby friend of LO. I officially become a stay at home mom on Monday so I think DH wants to make this weekend as relaxing as possible for me

Yup. We went to the gym this morning. Then my sister is in town so we went to my dads for 'Christmas'
DS had so much fun playing with his cousins.

Yep, LO ate a ton, pooped, slept, then we went to the Conservatory. LO missed his second nap, so we played and played him. He watched DH cook dinner while we decorated a cookie to keep him occupied. LO missed his bath again. I got a shower and will sleep soon for an early start tomorrow for LO to get 2 naps.
ETA: LO had three monster poops today. My almost 17 month old keeps surprising me.

Tomorrow is DH's morning too! Woke up at 5:45 because LO was screaming for me. She has 2 canines and 1 molar coming in.
I went to yoga in the morning while DH and LO hung out at the library and farmer's market. We had a dance class and then met up with some mommy friends and their LOs. She was so much fun today that i didn't mind that we were putting her to bed kind of late. Now i'm on my work laptop working.
