I wanted to TTC right away since I was 31 when we got married, but he's younger, so he wanted to wait. So we waited 1 year and went on two international trips that year. 20 months later we're still now we we joke about why we even bothered to wait.

Be married was pretty much it. We ended up waiting until we were married a year and a bit to start though. I would have started sooner.

Personally, I was not interested in having children under I graduated college and established a career and got myself financially "comfortable" (i.e., not living paycheck to paycheck, handle on debt, etc.).

Together, we wanted to be married at least a year, pay off some specific debt, travel some, save more than we had, etc.

ETA: Oh yeah, and I wanted to wait until I was 30.

Our list includes owning a house (and doing some renos), finishing school, and getting married. We are saving, too, but we don't have a specific goal in mind for this.

DH and I wanted to get married and then go on our (delayed) honeymoon about 9 months later. We went to Southeast Asia so waiting to start TTC was important because of the malaria meds and other nasty things I would have come into contact with in Bali/Philippines.
