Was there one thing you registered for that you wished you hadn't? or a brand you wish you'd chosen over another? too much of one thing and too little of another? Tell me your registry regrets!
Our registry was compiled based upon reviews on top of reviews, but almost everything is sight unseen, which scares me a little! Just wondering what regrets you might have had once LO arrived!

We bought our stuff on our own, but I could have done without:
infant bucket seat/base (we used the car only on weekends, if that)
Britax stroller and basinet, bought to be used with the infant bucket, was flimsy
swing: i was anti motion naps and it went front to back, so it was not used a ton
bumbo: I HAD to have it, barely used it because it is a pain to use with the tray table
puj tub: didn't fit in our sink, the faucet was in the way

I wish I didn't register for a stroller. We ended up using a stroller frame for 7 months!

Puj tub: This was also a tight fit for our sink, and DD just flopped around in it. We ended up just using the baby bath with hammock, or bathing with her, ourselves.
Arms Reach Cosleeper: Don't know if we will end up getting much use out of it, as DD is three months, and still bed sharing for the foreseeable future.
Burp cloths/Muslin blankets: Wish I had registered for about a trillion more. You can never, ever have enough.
Smoothie pacifiers: These were touted to me as THE best pacifier. I registered for and received many. DD ended up hating the nipple, and they never quite fit her face. We are definitely a NUK family, all the way.

We registered for and got a bunch of swaddling blankets.... Miracle blanket, swaddle me, ergo cocoon, halo sleep sack with wings, woombie.... And had an anti swaddle baby.
Hope the next one likes swaddling.

I didn't love the SwaddleMe blankets. I preferred using A&As.
I also didn't love the Puj. A friend gave me hers, so I am glad we didn't spend any money on it, but it didn't work for our sink. Bathing her in the regular baby tub worked better for us.

Wish I would have registered for two packages of A&A blankets instead of one.
More burp clothes & bibs (specifically my faovrite the Gerber prefold diapers, because they absorbed the best for a spitty baby)
More of our specific diapers so people knew which ones we were going with.

@oliviaoblivia: Oh man, completely agree. We got so many sleeping pouches, sacks, cocoons, and straight jackets. DD will absolutely have NONE of them. She's happiest in a pair of footie pajamas.

Tub: I'll admit, I bought one because it was cute (the Finding Nemo one), and it had the option to put LO in a sling or have them sitting up. Well, he despises the sling because he's not really in the water and he freezes, but he can't sit up yet. I'd highly recommend one with a hump in the middle that slopes on one side for when baby can't sit up on their own - we ended up buying the whale one on our own.
I also advise against the kits with all the healthcare stuff (nail clippers, thermometer, etc.) I thought it was so much more convenient than choosing all of that separately, but the quality was crap.
And the swing we chose wasn't good - I'd highly recommend the Fisher Price ones, we ended up exchanging ours for that. Yes, they take up more space and are more expensive, but for good reason, because they're a ton better!

Video monitor. Registered for a Summer Infant cause it was cheaper then the Motorola. I wish we just got the Motorola.

Everyone told me to register for multiple styles of bottles because we didn't know what DD would like. I didn't think I would like the Tommy Tippee ones but I registered for them anyway... what do you know, DD doesn't care what she drinks out of and now I have these stupid bottles that I hate (but am too cheap to buy new ones to replace otherwise perfectly good bottles).

I really don't like the pack n play and T has never liked it either. I eventually got a bjorn travel crib and I wish I just had that from the start!

I wish we had registered for safety/babyproofing supplies. My son is 18 months, and we have our cabinets rubberbanded shut because I can't remember to buy real cabinet locks. Plus the rubber bands are working for now and I feel too cheap to buy real ones. I wish I had asked for outlet covers, cabinet locks, and door knob covers. The baby proofing will sneak up on you!

Boon Lawn - functional and not an eyesore
Wubbanubs - yes, they're overpriced pacifiers, but the stuffed animal helped keep them in his mouth.
Onesies - all sizes and styles, but especially the kimono style while he still had his umbilical cord stump.
Regreted
Mama's and Papa's Snug (Bumbo) - he hated it and we received 3!
Pack'n'Play - never used it at home, so we keep it my MIL's
Bath Bucket - the only thing he hated more than the Snug

I wish we hadn't registered for a PNP with the newborn napper--we've never used it (baby sleeps on bassinet part). We do, however, use the changing table attachment every night!

@shinymama: ha i was totally debating the wubbanub...they are so cute, but am I going to be kicking myself if i put it on the registry and get it instead of something she actually needs?! (people always want to buy cute over practical!) i thought maybe i'd just buy it on my own once i know if she takes to the pacifier.

@Pirouette: True. Maybe buy one with any gift cards you receive or a return credit? I loved them, but every baby is different.
Also re: bath tub, we had what felt like 18 different fancy tubs, and the best one was this <$20 we bought at Target one night when we were desperate. The sling is removable/washable.

Pack and Play. DD hates being confined. so now its a huge toy box for her.
Swaddle sacks. she hated them and we had like 5 I ended up returning it for store credit.

@shinymama: We have the pink version of that one and I LOVE it! I loved the sling for a month or two, then the sloped seat was awesome until she was sitting up, and now at 9 months she still fits in it, and looks like she might fit for quite a while

@swurlygurl: Yes! We used up until 9-10 months; he still fit, but thought it was so much fun to climb out of it. We switched over to an inflatable tub because I'm a big chicken/worry wart.

I wish I would have registered for a video monitor.
Like... I REALLY wish I would have registered for one.
I didn't think I needed it because our house is TINY and she'd be right in the next room. And infants aren't really mobile, so...
Well, 3 years later, I wish I could see what is happening in her room while she's in there for a "nap" or timeout or "playing quietly". Sometimes I'll hear her playing (we do quiet time instead of naps because she's refused them now for 3 months) and all of a sudden it will be quiet, so I'll open the door to see what she's into... and I'll find her reading to herself. Of course she then pops up to see what I'm doing and the reading is over... which could have been avoided had I been able to look at a video monitor to see what she was doing 
I feel like I have needed one ever since she was actually mobile... they should market these to toddler parents!

Avent soothies. DD was not interested and we received like 2849392 of them, though we only registered for 2!
Bottle sterilizer/steamer-totally unnecessary!
Also, the Graco Nautilus--this won't be used for a looong time because we want to keep DD rear facing as long as possible. I regret not doing the research to find a good convertible car seat that would last awhile.

Wish I had registered for:
- Jumperoo (ended up buying it ourselves)
- Convertible car seat (didn't think I'd want to store it, but now I wished I didn't have to buy one soon!)
- Feeding supplies (high chair, spoons, bowls, etc.)
Regrets:
- Not registered, but I bought and got SO MANY bottles! And DD doesn't take bottles when I am around. So I would easily be fine with 4-5 just for pumping and not having to wash everyday.

@Pirouette: I'd definitely think about it - I know it probably depends on the LO, but once their umbilical cord stump falls off the sling really isn't necessary since they don't need (or like) being held up out of the water. But they won't be able to sit up on their own for quite awhile after that. After our experience I definitely feel like something that can handle the middle stage is a must!
@shopaholic: Jumperoo is a good one, we also had to buy one on our own and LO loves it!
@Trailmix: I hear that a ton, but we love our diaper genie! I guess it probably depends on what kind of diaper changing setup you have going on.

@ktdid23: We have made it 2 years without a video monitor but I somewhat wish I had one for those same reasons. Now that we are on to baby #2, I may use the regular monitor again for the baby and just get a video for the toddler.

@ktdid23: haha we live in a tiny apartment and just decided to bite the bullet and add the video monitor to our registry anyway! we figured it would still give us peace of mind, and i know we'll eventually have a bigger place and will want it then! seems so unnecessary now, but they are pretty expensive, so i'd rather put it on the registry at least for the completion discount!
@wonderstruck: man, researching baby tubs is making me terrified about bathing our baby - there's so much to consider and she'll be so tiny and fragile! thanks for your help the middle stage sounds like it's the longest stage too.
