I did! 4th through 7th grade then we lost touch. I randomly ran into her in Wisconsin at the national track meet my senior year of high school! It was several states away from both our home states so it was especially random. We're still FB friends and have a lot in common!

Yep! I think I was about 11 when I submitted a letter to a Mennonite kids' pen pal segment in the Sunday School papers. I kept in touch with a few for several years, mostly through email by then. I think I kinda let the last one go when I was 16ish. Now I look back and chuckle at what we wrote (NOT your typical tweenage/early teen girl stuff).
ETA: it WAS really fun to get a letter in the mail addressed to ME though, more fun than email.

Yep, her name was Bonnie and she almost became my stepsister (although she had a sister named Sarah so that would have been confusing.) My dad and her mom had been high school sweethearts, and reconnected after their respective divorces. I'm not sure what my dad did, but suddenly he was engaged to my stepmom and Linda heard about it through me.

I can't imagine how different my life would have been had he married Linda...

Anyway, Bonnie and I wrote back for forth until that happened, and then her mom didn't want her talking to me anymore
