Uh. My parents ordered pizza, bought tons of food and decorated with balloons and streamers.
Easy peasy!
All these themed parties drive me a little crazy!

Never. My parties sound like your parties growing up...pizza, cake from the grocery store bakery, 2-liter bottles of soda, and a bunch of crazy kids running around, haha.

I lived somewhere that essentially meant that we were travelling in the middle of the summer every year. And with a birthday that fell at the end of July, I hardly ever got to have a bday party! We started having half parties for me at one point, which were fun, and often Valentine's themed!

No, my parties were always a blast but never fancy or themed. I usually had them at the local roller rink and a few times at Peter Piper Pizza (similar to Chuck E Cheese).

Parties these days are concepts from start to finish. The few parties I had were not nearly that detailed.

My birthday is in mid October, so I often had Halloween or "spooky" themes.

I never even had a party =( My birthday is January 2 so birthday parties (where kids were invited) were fruitless. I always had a family party with cake and ice cream, but never had any decorations.

Yes... my mom was insane with the parties & it was awesome. My favorite was when I turned 6 I had a carnival theme with pony rides, games & prizes, a clown, a cotton candy machine, and face painting. There were different 'attractions' set up all over the front and back yard... tickets & everything! Makes me excited to party plan for Sadie!

HAHAHAHAHAHA! No way! Infact my parents were smart & when I was in the 3rd grade told me I could invite 1 friend & go to the amusement park of my choice (we have a good handful here in Texas) & that's how we did birthdays from then on out! lol

Nope. I think I had 3 or 4 birthday parties (I remember a sleepover and my sweet sixteen dinner party) and the rest were just cake with the family.

We always had crazy themed parties. The best one was a surprise party at about 12 years old. My mom planned for all the guests to be at their respective houses at the time of the party. None of the guests knew there was going to be a party (parents did of course). I went to visit a friend where I was told it was my surprise party (friend was surprised too). We then went from house to house surprising all the guests. After that we had a scavenger hunt all over the city. Gosh that was fun!

I never had parties!! Sometimes when we were younger my parents would throw a joint party for my brother and I (December and February) at McDonald's. I still remember fighting over the sugar figurines of Ronald McDonald and Grimace. They were literally like sugar cubes shaped and dyed.
I think I had one birthday party when I moved to a new town, to try and make friends, and then I had a sweet sixteen. I think???? Maybe...

My mom went all out with themes. I had a 50s party and we had an "artbees diner" with personalized menus, aprons, money to buy food with my face on it. We all wore poodle skirts, it was awesome.
I also had a pirate party, we dressed up, went on a treasure hunt, gave out light up swords.
I think this is why o love theme parties so much!

I had a purple themed party once. Everyone wore purple, the decorations were purple, and the cake had purple icing. The guest that wore the most purple got a prize. It was a small party at my house.
My mom and stepdad turned the garage into a nightclub for my sweet 16. We spray painted the walls and floors with neon colors beforehand (they put paper on the walls first). There was strobe lights and a disco ball and music. It was a lot of fun!

When I was very young we had a few really cool parties. I remember a magic show, Farrells and a few other super cool parties. Those ended by the time I was 6-7. I had a summer birthday, so no one was around to celebrate. I usually just got to pick a dinner that I wanted and my mom would make me a pineapple upside down cake.

@mrs. 64: that sounds really cool like a gift that keeps on giving.

I had two Halloween birthday parties. My parents went all out for my party in 1st grade - Pinterest worthy stuff. They still talk about that party. My brother had a wrestling themed party where they watched a pay per view WWF. He was really into that.
