I have an older sister, so I got a lot of her hand me downs. I didn't mind it though, I looked up to her and wanted to be like her, so it was perfect for me!

I also had a sister and wore her hand-me-downs. It was a less ideal situation for me...

My only sibling is my older brother and I had all male cousins so I didn't get them often. If and when I did I LOVED looking through them all and picking out what I liked. It was fun because they came from some older daughter of a family friend who I likely idolized at the time.

@mrbee: Lol, when my brother was a baby he had to wear my female cousin's hand me downs. They actually started with her, then went to her two younger brothers, and then to my brother. So not only were they pink, they were gross by then. Makes me appreciate what we have!

I didn't have an older sister but we didn't have a lot of money, so I wore clothes from my mom's friends & goodwill. I didn't love it but you work with what you've got.

My younger cousins wore my hand-me-downs. I feel bad for them now, they were 4 and 6 years younger than me and born in the early 80's. They got some really interesting clothing choices from us.

I have 4 brothers and was the older girl cousin so not a lot of hand-me-downs for me, BUT my mom shopped garage sales and Goodwill a lot so we rarely got new clothes. We wore uniforms to school too so we didn't need a lot of extra clothes.

I wore my sister's hand me downs until there was too much of a difference in size for that to happen. She was a really tall, skinny child and I was short and skinny (but not as skinny as her) so a lot of things stopped working.

I have an older brother and wore all his hand-me-downs until I was in high school! HIGH SCHOOL! When I was a little girl, I used to look at our family photo albums and say to my mom, "Why is he wearing all my clothes?" Ah, to be naive again!

I wore my older sister's hand me downs, not the fun thing to do, but now I'll def be doing the same with my LO.

For the most part I didn't, but I did get dresses and fancy outfit hand me downs from an 'unni' (older sis) type friend.

My older sister and I are only 13 months apart and were close to the same size most of our childhood, so I didn't get hand-me-downs from her. We did grow up sharing our clothes though.

My older cousin handed down some clothes up until I was in 5th grade-ish.

For awhile, but I was so small when I was younger that her clothes didn't really fit me right so I usually got my own!

I have three older sisters, so yes. My little sister actually made out the best; as the youngest of five, everything was so trashed by the time it got to her that my parents had to buy her almost evertything brand new!

Nope, I was also the oldest, first girl cousin and no extended family in the US!

I was the only child for 8 years and first grandchild in both families, I didn't know what hand me downs were until we settled down and would get used Strawberry Shortcake toys from a family friend's older kids.

I'm the oldest but I got hand me downs from an older cousin. When I was done with them they went to my sister.
