Did you know some toddler shoe makers have markings on the inside that tell you when you need new shoes? A friend mentioned that stride rite does, so I looked at our Umis and they do too! I had no idea!
In case you cant read it it says "markings on the toe, time for new shoes"

@autumnlove: I mean, it makes sense-- tell people when they need to buy new shoes and they will buy more shoes.

I have seen it on a couple pairs. But SKR are my favs and they don't have it. I just go by the finger test.

I've seen the ones in Stride Rite. I didn't realize that they're in the Umis. LO has a pair of them. I'm going to look at his tonight for this.

@JoJoGirl: You should be able to fit a finger between the child's toe and the end of the shoe. At least that is what the salesperson at Stride Rite told me.

Cool! I have trouble doing the finger test on DD's stiffer shoes (especially boots), so this is a neat feature.

@PinkElephant: take the sole out of the shoe and do it. Much easier.

never saw this! of course, LO grows out of her shoes width-wise before length-wise, so i doubt it will help us. but that's neat anyway

We buy Stride Rite shoes and had no idea!! This is brilliant! I'm always curious as to when to buy new shoes for DS so I take him into the store and have them measure him. This is easier.
