The first one I had was just ok but there was a shift change shortly after I was admitted and I loved that one! So glad she was the one there when I delivered.

I had an amazing nurse with DD1, DD2 was just midwives, no nurses

They were all absolutely fantastic!! One was with us through the whole labor process and we absolutely loved her. I hope she's working when we deliver #2!

For #1, loved her. For #2, don't remember. I was in so much pain I had no idea what was going on.

My first nurse was awesome (and actually worked with one of my mom's co-workers previously even though they live in different states now). She left after a couple hours and my next nurse was ok, but the floor got really busy so I didn't see a lot of her. She was supposed to put in my catheter after my epidural but never did because she got super busy...I had to call another nurse and ask to have it put in! My last nurse in the morning and during my c section was also awesome. I had her in the mother/baby unit as well.

Yes, I had two (due to a shift change), and they were both fantastic.

@lawbee11: Opposite of you...the nurse that worked the 12p-12a shift I loved. The one that came on at 12a and helped delivered R, I couldn't stand. She talked to everyone else as if I wasn't in the room (in labor!)...like she was yelling her plans for the weekend to the nurse in the hall. SO unprofessional.
I was really irked but then all of my after care nurses were amazing!!!!!!!

I loved all of them with both kids!!!! I seriously delivered at a hospital that prides themselves on offering excellent customer service. Every single one is trained to ask "is there anything else I can get or do for you?" after they see you.

I had a bunch of different nurses because the floor was packed so they had to call in extra nurses. The back up nurse who became my full time night nurse was amazing and so much nicer than the one I had originally. I lucked out!

I did not like the first one. She was way more interested in being chatty and oversharing than in nursing. I got to hear alllll about her kids and her pets and all of their names, what her kids did (and did not) get her for mothers day, all about her divorce and how she got fired from her last job, about how she's basically a hoarder and on and on and on. Not to mention when I first got there and she went to start my IV she was like "I'm not very good at this..." and then she blew my vein, which STILL hurts 10 days later. Oh and she didn't believe me when I told her my water broke. She was like "oh it's probably just your bloody show." I was like ummm there is WAY too much stuff coming out of me for it to be that. And she was like "oh you'd be surprised" and left. Like an hour later she finally checked and big surprise-- my water broke. Sigh.
Luckily she was only there the first 9 hrs. The second 9 hrs, which were much tougher on me, I had a difference nurse who was fantastic. She was super attentive and helpful but didn't bug me.

I had one nurse after my care was transferred (post-epidural), and she was incredible.
She ended up delivering K, because both the OB and the midwife didn't make it in time!

Yes, I thought they were both great. The one I had for my contractions/epi was very, very caring and helpful. There was a shift change and I had another one for the delivery and she was great too (I'll never forget her wheeling me into the bathroom and all of her help there). The first one actually called me a few days later to check and see how I was doing which I thought was really nice.

We had two the first shift and they were great. But I really loves the one that was there all day with us and through delivery.
I really hope next time that my friend is on duty and can help me deliver.

We had 4. (uh...we were there a while) Of those, 3 were AMAZING, and one was borderline awful.

They were all fantastic! Except for one at the very end... She was only there for pushing, and she kept telling me to get mad at my baby while I pushed. Ummm, no. I want to hold him, not be mad at him lol!
honeydew / 7230 posts
My induction took 28 hrs and the nurses were all great. The nurse that I had overnight and in the morning when I started pushing was fantastic. She helped me push for 3 hrs and then there was a shift change. I was so sad to see her go, but she visited us the night after they were born in the post partum area.

I had two. The second I was meh about, but the first one was incredible. I cried when she had to leave! She, and the OB that admitted me (but didn't deliver) both came to visit us the next day!

Yes, I loved her. I was induced in the morning, so I only had her until the very end. She actually stayed after her shift ended because she wanted to see me have the baby.

They were meh. Not overly friendly, but not rude. Just kind of quiet and all business. The postpartum nurses were amazing though!

I didnt have nurses, actually. I had 1 midwife who sat in the room with me the entire time I was in labor. She was effing amazing.

For LO #1 I really liked my nurse!! She was very sweet and supportive!
With LO #2 my nurse was my god sister! So yes, I love her She really was an awesome nurse!

Loved them. With S I had one I didn't like and when I found out she was my first nurse during my c section we had that changed asap). Other than her, they were fantastic both times.

Both times I had fantastic nurses. They really went the extra mile to keep me comfortable and happy.

The ones for after I delivered ranged from okay to crappy. But the nurse when I was in labor was AMAZING - didn't leave my side once unless it was to get something for me, and was incredibly encouraging even when I was not at all easy to deal with. Although I vaguely remember that I kept apologizing for various things, and she kept telling me to stop, haha.

She was wonderful with A. With E she was good at first but then turned kinda mean. She told me I was being dramatic when they told me I had platelet issues and I asked if that could make me bleed death. I thought it was a legit question, apparently it was not. I was also worried when they said they would have a team from nicu up there when I deliver just in case (never needed), and she wasn't nice about those worries. Also, when they took my epidural out I couldn't move my left leg, at all. Which is not normal so I got a little worried, she was very rude about having to lift it for me since I couldn't. So basically no not really great with E, DH wasn't impressed either.

They all were really good but the one who was there doing actual delivery was great her name was candi

They were great. The one for delivery was pregnant. Everyone who worked at the hospital was great, really.

Loved her. I now understand the stories where babies are named after the nurse/midwife/doctor.

@lawbee11: I had the opposite. I loved the one I had from 7 - am to 7 pm, and then shift switch and got stuck with an awful one when I actually had do push
