Both of mine were great, although I wished the first one I had (her shift ended a few hours after I was admitted) could have been there the whole time. She was wonderful. When I went to the hospital the second time she held my hair back and rubbed my back when I was puking in the bathroom, was very encouraging and physically supportive when we were waiting for the epidural to arrive, kept me informed of everything they were doing during and after the epidural placement and kept sneaking water in for me. She also stopped by to visit me and E when her next shift started and loved on him for a bit (as did both the admitting and on-call OBs!)
The nurse who was with me the rest of the time was great most of the time, but there was a mis-communication when she interpreted me saying "I can feel contractions again" when my epidural stopped working as "I'm feeling some (normal) pressure". I blame myself for not clarifying that what I meant was "My back feels like it's being broken by a sledgehammer every minute or so, can you call someone?" But she was really great when I was pushing!
How were your nurses?
