With all the hype surrounding when William & Kate will be leaving the hospital, it has me wondering whether or not you looked ready to have your photo taken within 36 hours of giving birth, knowing of course that it would be circulated around the world? There has got to be enormous pressure to look great, although some would argue she knew that would be expected of her when she married him.
I also think that having a hairdresser at your disposal and a fabulous wardrobe doesn't hurt either!!

Ha! Well, and she only has to be seen for a few minutes afterward. So, she (hopefully) go back to the palace and relax (since I'm sure they'll have a nanny to help out). If I knew I had to keep up an appearance for just a few min, I think I could have pulled it together

I looked like a whale from all the IV fluids and I couldn't stand up straight due to my c section for at least a week after!! My skin was horrible and I was just a bloaty mess.
If it were me, I would have snuck out the back door with a burlap bag over my head.

riiiight.. I was a hot mess. My face was so swollen I could hardly open my eyes. My hair was so greasy, and I was sick & IV'd for days so I couldn't shower. I had broken some blood vessels in my face from pushing.

We had pictures taken in the hospital, and I somehow managed to pull myself together, even though I felt ROUGH. it's amazing what BB cream and eyeliner/mascara can do.
I definitely would be ok with it if I had a royal hairdresser to help me out

Although I will say, it's amazing what a makeup artist and hairdresser can do, so that coupled with something stylish and flattering, maaaaybe I could have been somewhat presentable.

@petunia354: ha! That's exactly what I was thinking; I'm sure she will have a personal m/u artist, hair stylist etc on hand before exiting!

Ah, no. I looked like sh!t and still looked 6 months pregnant. Although if we compared me to Kate, I looked like I was overdue... Haha.

HECK no. But if I had a makeup artist, a stylist and someone to do my hair? Sure. My face would still be fat but I'd look better than I did in my striped tank top and sweatpants.

i looked bloated and tired but happy. i think that a hairdresser and a makeup artisit could have done wonders though!

No. In fact, I was still kind of scaring people for the next few days when I had visitors. I also probably didn't shower for two weeks because I was scared of my c-section wound getting infected. Thank goodness there is minimal photographic evidence of how awful I looked!

Well, didn't she do her own hair or makeup for her wedding? She seems pretty low key, so who knows what kind of team she'll have at the ready.
I looked terrible, but then, I didn't make an effort!

Nope! But I do think if it was going to be for a short time and I had staff on hand to make me look presentable I could've done it. I wouldn't want to though!

If I had someone to do my hair, yes, I could have pulled it together. I was only about 8lbs over pre pregnancy weight when I walked out of the hospital and I felt pretty good.
I REALLY wanted to know what she was wearing when she arrived in labor. Was she in sweatpants? Does she even OWN sweatpants???

I was a huge puffy mess. If I had someone come in and do my hair and makeup though i'm sure I could look half ass.

Hah. At the time, I thought I looked alright. I showered, did my hair and put on some makeup. Looking back at the pictures... Not so much. I was ginormous thanks to all the IV fluids. No amount of help could have hidden all my chins.

hell.no. I looked about 20 pounds heavier from IV fluids than I did before I went in. I waddled out in sweats and flip flops. She is a postpartum unicorn.

OMG, no. I looked SO terrible. I wouldn't allow anyone to take my photo.
They pumped me so full of fluids so I was ridiculously swollen. When I left the hospital the only shoes that would fit me were my slippers because my feet were so swollen. I was a mess!

I don't think I looked horrible, except for the greasy hair in a bun that hadn't been washed in days, the dried milk on my shirt, the bags under my eyes from just catching power naps for days (also responsible for how pale and wan I looked) and the fact that I was sweating buckets...
But with a hairdresser and makeup artist and someone to give me something that wasn't yoga pants and a nursing top to wear I think I could have pulled it off!

I'd actually say yes! I was happy with the way I looked in the hospital pro pics the next day, and the pic DH took of me and DD just after is one of my favorite pictures of myself. I was getting ready for our last pre-baby date when my water broke, so my hair looks pretty decent, but overall, i like them because I just feel like they captured how I felt - content and awestruck.

My hair was so matted that it took me three hours to brush it out (I have waist long hair and I had a 36 hour labor). After that I had no energy left to shower, so I just braided it dirty and left it. No makeup. I wore pajamas with fuzzy socks and no shoes, with a short robe over the top.
Then again, I had a hellish labor, third degree tears, no makeup artist or hair stylist...
She looked awesome!

I was a pretty hot mess, though I didn't make a lick of effort to look cute. I'm sure if I tried hard I could have looked halfway decent, but that wasn't a priority. I think the Duchess looked incredible!!

I was a puffy, waddling, sweaty, pale, exhausted mess leaving the hospital. I don't know if it was from the severe tearing I had or the three hours of pushing I did or the fluids that they gave me but my bottom swelled up really big and even maternity clothes didn't fit well leaving the hospital.
All that being said I wish I had more pictures of myself during that time. I didn't want anybody taking pictures of me because I felt I looked so awful, but looking back it was a special time no matter how I looked and I wish I had captured more memories of it!
Kate looked AMAZING for having just given birth!

Well I was pale as a ghost due to low iron, so I would have needed a fabulous makeup artist too...but for a few minutes I might have been able to pull it together but in reality I had frizzy hair, was wearing yoga pants, and looked like death

Absolutely not. I was an exhausted mess in my yoga pants, I didn't even wear a bra leaving the hospital haha! oops

I don't hate the pictures of me from when we were leaving the hospital, but I looked nothing like Kate. My yoga pants, tshirt, and flyaway cardigan looked like pajamas compared to her dress and wedges!

Press worthy? He'll no. But, I did look pretty good! I was up walking around hours after giving birth so by the time I left I was feeling pretty good!

Not really. But our picture is still front and center when you go to the hospital's maternity page. Luckily the whole world doesn't see that.

I couldn't walk well from my C-section, so that definitely would have put a damper on things, but my hair didn't look awful! I had washed and straightened it that morning and it looked pretty decent when I went into labor.
