Or did you just pack yourself one? I'm finally starting to whittle down my to-do list and wondering if I should really pack her a bag. I'd like to escape the hospital with as much goodies as possible, lol, so I don't want to fill it.
I'm thinking maybe a going home outfit, if we decide on one? is that really it? my aunt bought me the Boppy, but will be gifting it to me at the hospital, so I don't have to worry about that.

I plan to pack a few things for butterbean in with my stuff, like her going home outfit and a few binkies (just in case . . . and maybe for the car ride home).

I packed his diaper bag, and added in a few outfits and swaddle blankets (I didn't want my baby in nasty hospital laundry).

A friend told me just to save myself the trouble and use what they have a hospital. I might bring an outfit & blanket for pics and that's all.

I'm bringing McBebe's diaper bag with a coming home outfit, a receiving blanket, and a few pacifiers in it. It would easily fit in our hospital bag, but we were told to expect to get a lot from the hospital, so I figured I could use the extra bag to carry it all home.

I didn't and I should have. I really didn't understand that at my hospital, they keep you in for 3 nights, and you must provide all of the stuff the baby needs in those 3 nights/ 4 days.
By the first morning, I had to send DH to get more diapers, wipes, and outfits (he's a boy and I was a new Mom, so he peed on every top almost every diaper change). Who knew I'd go through so many baby outfits?

I had a couple going home outfits because I knew shed be big so I wasn't sure about sizing. I don't remember if we brought diapers, I think we just took some from the hospital for the car ride home.

I used the diaper bag as my hospital bag and just threw a couple outfits for him to go home in.
Since I wasn't sure what would fit, I put a newborn and a bigger 0-3 outfit in for him- the newborn outfit was plenty big on him at 6.11.

I kind of did, I brought a blanket, a change of clothes, winter gear (hat, car seat cover) because I knew my husband would have a hard time finding it all.

I brought some stuff for her in our bag but all we used was the goiing home outfit and a receiving blanket..i was happy to use the hospital stuff. We did brinng two sizes for the outfir to see what fit best.

DH and I took separate bags but I just packed DD's going home/picture outfit in my bag. Between the two of us we were fit everything we got from the hospital (mostly diapers).

Our hospital provided everything you needed but I took 3 outfits, an A+ A blanket and left room to take stuff home. You're going to be charged for it so you might as well take everything they leave in the room.
We swaddled her in the A+A blanket and the nurses all gushed over how nice it was. Haha.

Our hospital pretty much provided everything we needed. She wore the little white t-shirts, hospital hat, and flannel swaddle blanket. They provided diapers and wipes and I think paci's if you need/want one.
I would suggest maybe packing a newborn hat if you have a special one you want to use instead of the standard one. Also, I've heard people wanting to put those little mitten things on their hands sometimes, but usually their hands stay tucked in the blankets.
We just brought our diaper bag and it had a going home outfit. Plus we were able to add all the little stuff they gave us to the bag on our way home.

@FutureMrsMcK: yes! I feel silly having her giant bag empty (it's a Vera Bradley tote) so maybe I'll fold it into mine. I also heard to bring empty bags both for gifts and things you snag from the hospital.
@cvbee: oh man, that stinks! our hospital is pretty good about supplying everything. I mean, we have stuff we could definitely bring, but I want to take advantage of the freebies while I can, lol.
so it seems like general consensus is just outfit, swaddle, maybe a hat? sounds good to me!

Also try to bring a few blankets. My LO was too small for the car seat without a few blankets around her for support. Husband had to run down to the gift shop to get a blanket.
