When I was testing for pregnancy I either didn't get a line at all, or it was a pretty solid one. I see a lot of "squinters" but I never actually see them like most do. I wonder if I ever had a "squinter" in the past and just didn't know it, or maybe I just didn't question the test as much?
When you test(ed) did you ever question your tests or ask others for confirmation? Or were you pretty sure one way or the other?

No, I didnt question my tests. The test I used either flat out stated Pregnant/ Not Pregnant or showed a Plus sign. Even a faint plus sign was easy to distinguish.

Not with E, because I didn't test until 13DPO, the day my period was due. I did with G, though. I tested on a whim at 10DPO, and thought I saw a blur of something but I had just woken up and wasn't quite focused, yet....I posted it on here!

We went through IF and it took 2.5 years to get pregnant. I took tests most of those months and a few times I felt like I had a bit of a line. I took pictures at all angles and in different light and over analyzed everything. I think I even posted here once or twice. I wanted to be pregnant SO badly that I'm pretty sure I just hallucinated it most of the time. When I actually got pregnant (through IVF) it was clear as day, no question about it.

I was just wondering this last night! I had never actually heard of squinters until I came to HB (after I was already pregnant). I thought of squinters as really faint lines that you knew other people could see, but just needed confirmation because you are doubting yourself/sanity. My pregnancy test was light when I first took it, but after seeing blanks prior there was no question in my mind that this one was positive.
I am now really suspicious of the other kind of squinters (i.e. turn it in the light the right way) because I recently had one (with color!!) and I was definitely not pregnant. It was a FRER, too!

Not with my any of my first three pregnancies, but with my DS2, I wasn't sure if the faint line was from my trigger injection or pregnancy.
Eta: so I guess I mean I doubted them getting darker not that a line was there.

Not my first 2 pregnancies but definitely my last one. It took forever to get a line to show, like I didn't get a clear one until a couple days after af was due and even then it was ligher than it should have been. So, I wasn't shocked when it ended in a loss. But my first 2 were clear and I never had to question them or agonize over squinters!

My cycles coming off the pill were so wonky. I think I took a test or two after my first cycle, but that's because it didn't come for almost 3 months. But they were very stark negatives, and I certainly didn't feel pregnant.
The 6 times I was pregnant, I waited until at least I had missed my period, even if I felt pregnant. I didn't want to know if I was pregnant if I was going to lose another baby, so I tried to protect myself. All of those tests were plain as day positive.

Yes, but I had tested ridiculously early at like 9DPO or something. I mean I was pretty sure what I saw, it was hard to photograph.

I questioned my first positives, because I was 13dpo and they were just squinters... Sure enough, they faded and the pregnancy ended in an early miscarriage (chemical pregnancy). With my next pregnancies I had decent lines well before my period was due, and they darkened every day... So I felt much more confident!

Yes for both pregnancies. For my first I tested early and super faint lines, but on two different tests and Dh saw them too, so I was pretty sure it was positive.
With my second the lines were clear as day, but the tests were expired so I thought maybe it was a mistake, since I was sure I couldn't be pregnant. Nope, preggo.

When I was pregnant, I took a test at like 6am. I thought it was negative, so I threw it away and went back to bed. While I was in bed, something told me to get up and check the test again. Sure enough, there was a line. I couldn't believe it. So I was until my husband left for the day and I went and bought a digital test. It then clearly said I was pregnant. However, I continued to test for the next two weeks until my first doc appointment because I just couldn't believe it. Here is my photo of my first tests.

My first test was a dud, so I was like ?!?! It just didn't have any lines, not even the control, lol! So then I got SO weary! The 2nd one in the same pack showed a faint line, but at that point I was so unsure. But I was on vacation at the time and that was all I had; by the time I got home and tested with FRER it was a blazing positive!

@LBee: This was my first test for G. It took us over a year to get pregnant with E, and I rarely tested at all during that time. I tested at 13DPO with him because I was charting and my temp spiked instead of dropping the day my period was due. This picture was 10DPO, our first cycle trying, and I tested on a whim...I didn't think there was any chance I was pregnant, I just wanted to pee on a stick, lol! I posted it on here because I wasn't expecting to see a thing, and thought my eyes were playing tricks on me (I had literally been awake about 5 minutes...)

Nope. My cycle was wanly even 6 months after being off the pill so I had no idea when/if I ovulated. I took the test on the 4th of July because I had plans to drink that day. By the time I took the test it was very clearly a 
I had no idea. I did not question it.

I never questioned them with LO1 or LO2 (blaring positive), but this time around, my cycles are wonky! I wasn't sure when to start testing 
I am questioning my tests right now, lol.

@lovehoneybee: I see that one! It's so hard to know though about squinters - I see that one, but then I've seen other ones that people post and later report back that it wasn't really positive. Squinters confuse me.

I never questioned them, but they were always SUPER positive (like, the positive line came up before the test line) or obviously negative. I found negative tests really devastating, though, so I only ever tested if I was already late.

Only one (during a non pregnant cycle). But it wasn't a squinter, it was a blue dye that smeared that I bought by accident.

My first positive was light but it definitely wasn't a squinter. There was clearly a line there! I just could hardly believe I was actually pregnant!

Yes! All the time. I've definitely questioned tests that turned out to be completely blank, but all 4 times I've ever gotten pregnant I've started out with a super squinter (i.e. For two of the pregnancies I had discounted the morning test as negative, but then it nagged me all day and when I retested later that day got a clearer positive). I am an early tester though...I have absolutely no patience for waiting!!

Not really? My first and second I tested late enough it was obvious. After that I had a feel for what pregnant feels like so both times I knew before I tested. So even though they were so faint I didn't even bother showing DH right away, I knew.

Yeah, I had a wondfo that was super duper light with my third. I didn't test early either!
With this last pregnancy, I took a blue dye test and they've been wrong in the past so I wasn't sure if it was true positive.

I had been so used to seeing negative tests that when I was finally pregnant with LO with the help of the fertility clinic it was a shock how quickly the positive showed up.
The other day I got a cheap test from the dollar store and it gave me a faint line. I was going to post it but it felt weird. I'm 95% sure I'm pregnant either way. Just too lazy to keep testing.

My first test was 10 dpo and it wasn't a squinter at all. I didn't question it. Whether or not I believed it was a different story!!

I had never heard of squinters until I came here! My tests with LO 1 and 2 were both glaringly positive after AF. The test with LO3 was clearly there at 10dpo as well. I don't think I would trust anything that wasn't obviously there, and I know OH wouldn't either.

With this pregnancy, I questioned the first faint-but-decent FRER line at 11dpo because I was coming directly off a m/c and wasn't sure if it was leftover hcg from the old pregnancy. I tested again at 12dpo and the line was significantly darker, and that's when I was sure.

Yes. With my first pregnancy (ended in miscarriage), the lines were super faint. I used a blue dye test first, and it was so faint that I didn't believe it until I could see a slightly darker line on a frer. With my second pregnancy (healthy 6 month old), I was so anxious after the miscarriage and freaked out about how faint the lines were. I had a stark white test at 13 dpo, and a barely visible line at 14 dpo. I had a feeling I was pregnant, but still questioned the positive.

I've tested in varied amounts but not really doubted that much. First pregnancy was a miscarriage and I remember testing a few times to see if I really was losing the pregnancy. Second pregnancy I tested a few times because I was paranoid but I could tell I was pregnant without the test. Third pregnancy I never took a test. My body makes it really obvious really early and I didn't want to spend the money.

Absolutely. It was the first time I ever got a positive test after 2 years. I was so sure it was going to be a chemical that I didn't get excited until my 2nd beta.
