DH and I watched a few TV shows where the wives post DTD promptly put their legs in the air. My OB did not suggest this, so does this work or is it just for show?

I was wondering this! A girl today on Reddit put a picture of her legs up and i was like dang, should I do that?

Oh I totally did! DH would shove a pillow up under my hips to prop them up and I'd bring my knees up to my chest for like 15 minutes. Who knows if it actually did anything, but in my head it kept everything contained.

Ha - I did! Pregnant on the first try, but who knows whether that had anything to do with it.

I am like @futuremrsmck ... I propped my butt up with a pillow. I didn't put my legs up in the air, but I would bend my knees & lay there for a bit.

Haha I did it!! One side of our bed is against a wall and I'd just prop them up on the wall. We had watched The Great Sperm Race and I figured they needed all the help they could get!

Yup! Propped my butt up and laid with my legs against my headboard or wall!

haha, i've been doing this for the past few times we have DTD! I like to think that I'm helping the little guys out a bit.

I don't know if it works, but I did it! Actually, the cycle I got pregnant, I would spin around so I could put my feet on the wall above the headboard AND I'd shove a pillow under my butt to get some good elevation! I have no idea if it's necessary or if it works, but I did it!

I do Not everytime but some times! I also lay there for as long as I can. I'm with @Running Elley they need all the help they can get!

@Adira: haha, I've done the flip around to put my butt up on the pillows and my feet on the wall over the headboard

I didn't on the first try, I would just lay there for a few extra minutes. On the second (and successful) try, I didn't put them all the way in the there, but I'd pull my knees up to my chest and stay like that for a few minutes. Never a full 15 minutes, but maybe 5? I don't think it really makes a difference, but why not, just in case?

once, only to show my husband what someone had suggested(she was WAY into TTC and knew all the 'tricks')

I did too... I would prop my butt up on DH's knees and we'd lay and talk (or he'd laugh at me) or watch TV for a bit.

pre-TTC: right after i would go to the bathroom to clean up. TTC: i would try to lay there but ultimately get skeeved out. The time that i assume did the trick, was in the middle of the night and i fell back to sleep.... 2 weeks later KU.

I didn't but I did stay in bed for 20 mins and used a pillow to prop my hips more.

I did try the legs in the air, but the month I got my BFP, I just propped my butt up with a pillow (no legs in the air) and laid in bed for awhile afterwards.

Yes and it did not work. (I did it lots of months.) I was at the point that I wanted to try anything and everything. I think it's more for piece of mind than actual science.

Yes. I propped myself up on pillows so my hips were at an incline, kept my knees up and together, and stayed in bed for at least 20-30 minutes. I got pregnant on the second cycle, so maybe it worked!

There are so many factors involved in getting pregnant that I think it's hard to pinpoint just one thing, like elevating your hips, to getting pregnant. I've read from doctors that it's not necessary, but you should lay still a bit before getting up.
With that said, there are clearly lots of folks here who did it and who knows, maybe it did help! It certainly wouldn't hurt, and could help you feel like you're doing everything you can to get pregnant.

Yup, after month 6 of TTC, I did everything. Pillow propping, knees up, didn't get out of bed for about 15 minutes.

I didn't intend to but DH immediately propped a pillow under me and sat and talked with me while I had my legs in the air (leaning against the headboard) so I just went with it. He said he saw it on tv lol. It became our little 'routine' after.

Haha...YES! I always laid in bed for an extra few minutes with my legs up.

The Dr. who did my IUI told me to lay still for 20 minutes afterwards. Not to put my legs up though. I did it for the IUI and the BD'ing afterwards and I got pregnant!

@Modern Daisy: For my IUIs, it was the same. They don't ask that I put my legs up but the bed I'm on does get propped up and they ask me to lay there for 15 minutes.

Nope, never, but we were always more in the NTNT camp than the actively trying camp.
