Nope. I prefer not to see my own internal organs if at all possible... Even if it's one that comes out!

I did! It was huge! Well, a lot bigger than I thought it would be!

I deliver babies so I've seen lots and I honestly can't remember if I saw mine!

I've seen one before, and I think I saw mine. But I was a little too out of it to remember much!!

@Ree723: I didn't realize you were expecting again. Congratulations!

The nurse asked if I wanted to do "anything special" with the placenta and I said no, and then later realized I should have specified I did at least want to look at it. I very briefly saw it being carried away in a bucket. I wish I had gotten a better look.

I saw it (and have pictures) for LO1, but I only took a glance after labor with LO2. I encapsulated both times. I find them cool in a gross sorta way!
@littlejoy: ha, I have those hearts too! I'd feel weird about throwing them away, but I need to finally get them out of the fridge. Maybe I should bury them when we finally buy a house?? What are you planning to do?

@sometimesshesings: Ours is just in a little silk bag. It's in my LO's keepsakes box. Funny enough, my mom hassle piece of mine in my baby book. Weird, but kind of cool to know its there.

No, I didn't see mine, but I've seen someone else's when I was in school. It was really neat!

No I never asked! I think it was packaged up and sent to a lab for analysis so I don't think they could have showed me.

Yes! The midwives gave us a 'tour' both times- showed us the parts of it, where the cord attached. I didn't expect it to be so big!

Yep, both times. I had a velamentous cord insertion with my first, so my doctors and I geeked out big time with that one. Its kind of funny because the first photo my husband took after I gave birth was of the placenta. The second time I had to look at it so I could see what a normal placenta and cord looked like.

No, I had a c-section so I missed a lot of that type of stuff, which is fine because it probably would have freaked me out a little bit.

Yes, my midwife and her team brought it over and showed it to me. I guess it was wrinkly or curly or some kind of odd shape, so they were all excited about it. It was pretty neat.
