I'm not a huge drinker, so at first I thought I would not be drinking at all while TTC - but after a few months I've decided that I feel comfortable having a drink or two on an evening out. I didn't really like fielding questions from friends about why I wasn't drinking. I also think we'll have better luck conceiving if I am less stressed/constantly thinking about TTC!

i don't really drink anymore, but drank some sangria now and then. but not during the TWW.

LOL, I followed Parkerhaus's rule. Not having wine in moderation would have been torture for the 8 months we were TTC.

But, I may have had one (or 4) too many drinks pre-ovulation (ie, the day before ovulation) on the month we conceived. It was for a special occasion ; )

Hells to the no! I did tone it down, but I had to have a glass of wine at night. Especially after yet another BFN.

Granted we aren't actively TTC yet but when we do I'm not planning on cutting it all together, but rather following @ParkerHaus with moderation. Especially if it were to take us awhile, I think I'd be more relaxed if I didn't cut that totally.

We're not actively TTCing either, but I don't intend to cut out alcohol when we do. Probably still have a glass of wine here and there, but definitely no heavy drinking.

@maisymay - I'm so sorry to hear about your nephew.

I was very strict about not drinking at all during the TTW the first several months of TTC. As the months kept going on, I was less strict about it. I didn't get smashed, but I didn't say no to a glass of wine or a beer, either.

I don't drink at all during the TWW. Before O, I will have a drink or two, but nothing crazy.

I'll have a beer or two during the TWW, but nothing crazy. I drink more during AF and right after.

I stopped drinking when we decided to start TTC because I thought it would be good to get our friends used to seeing me out without a drink to prevent questions when we get that BFP. I wasn't a big drinker at home anyway so it hasn't been a big deal for me.

Since we have started TTC I haven't been drinking at all, but I agree with some posters, the longer it takes the more I feel like a glass of wine here and there, nothing crazy, would be ok and maybe even stress relieving. Take my mind off the TTC crazies!

I asked my OB (who is great, and extremely well respected) and she said it takes about 4 weeks from implantation until the embryo is sharing a blood-to-blood connection with you, so there is absolutely no reason not to drink whatever you like up until you get a BFP. I specifically asked her about the TWW, and she repeated the same info, and stressed that in her medical opinion, it’s completely fine to drink during the TWW. She said it’s a good idea not to get completely plastered, but not because you will hurt the embryo/fetus directly, just because you are creating a generally toxic environment inside of yourself (which isn’t helpful for you or any embryo that might be there).

I drank until I got my BFP, and don’t feel guilty about it.

I wouldn't drink during the TWW, just in case. But then when we took a little step back, I did drink during that time, and got pregnant! I don't really feel bad about drinking though. I am not a heavy drinker, so its not like there was a ton of alcohol in me during the 2 wks I was pregnant and didn't know. I still will have a sip of beer here and there too.

I drink on my period, and my husband and I share a bottle of red wine the week between O and implantation. He got us some Sangue di Giuda that he's hoping will take us through to a BFP.

Drink till it's pink! Actually, I'm not a big drinker at all, but would still have the occasional glass of wine or margarita. And now, between pregnancy and breastfeeding, it's been almost 15 months since I've had a drop.
