I remember sweating like crazy after Charlie in my sleep. The most I've ever sweat in my entire life! But I don't really remember sweating with Olive. Maybe because I gained twice as much weight with Charlie?
Did you sweat like a monster postpartum?

Yes! I remember thinking: is this normal? Why didn't anyone mention this would happen? It was BAD!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
I had it for about a week? Not as long or as bad as I was anticipating. But, I also held onto baby weight too and didn't have a major drop in wt like a lot of pp moms!
persimmon / 1328 posts
No, and weirdly I have been so much less sweaty ever since having DS (18mo pp now). I used to be such a sweaty person but I hardly ever notice it any more. Hormones do such funky stuff!

Yes! For like 6 weeks at least. No one told me about it, so I didn't know what was going on.
pear / 1503 posts
Yes! For a couple of weeks. We also didn't have the air conditioner on as high because LO was sleeping in our room, and we worried he'd be too cold. The extra several degrees plus the anticipated night sweats made me feel so uncomfortable. I had to change the sheets daily (I'd also soak through my nursing pads)!

Yes, I was sleeping on a towel and changing out the towel and my clothes in the middle of the night! ugh the glorious PP things that we forget.

@LAZB: i know! i was like what is that smell??? and it was me!
pineapple / 12802 posts
Yes. Even immediately after a shower I felt like I stunk. It was a terrible time. Thank god it's over!
pear / 1586 posts
Yes! I slept on towels for a few weeks. Early September in the South + postpartum = sweaty mess!

I'd forgotten about that, but yes, for weeks! I woke up drenched, and I smelled so bad! Dave swore I smelled fine, but I think he was just beig nice...

No! I kind of wish I did though because instead of sweating out the fluid, I just peed it all out. And it was horrible because even if baby was sleeping I had to wake up every hour just to pee. >:( I was so exhausted from all the peeing.
pomegranate / 3604 posts
Yeah! I'd have to wash my sheets daily and wear deodorant to bed. It was baaaaaaad (it was also August. Blech)
coconut / 8279 posts
buckets! like, would wake up soaking wet. so gross.
I did have pre-e and was told I'd sweat out all the water weight that had made me so swollen. I was down 40-ish lbs by 6 weeks PP.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
Yes! A ton. Had to wash the sheets and my PJs first thing every morning for a few weeks.
pear / 1580 posts
I didn't, but I think the fluid that I didn't sweat out I ended up peeing out instead.

Yep, it was pretty gross. I remember feeling so HOT all the time, too!
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
Yup - horrifically. Only after my oldest though, weird - not night sweats but BO!!
Not so much after DD2.

I was actually freezing. Like about to get my thyroid checked freezing. It went away after 8-10 weeks maybe?
pomegranate / 3863 posts
Yes. I feel so bad for everyone I encountered in the NICU those first couple of weeks. I was always so wet and stinky. Didn't hurt that they kept the temp up in there! I'm surprised I didn't lose more weight from it, now that I think about it, lol.
eggplant / 11716 posts
Yes...I would wake up drenched. But I was happy because I was super swollen and every sweat-fest brought me closer to losing all that water weight.
cherry / 215 posts
Yes, it was absolutely disgusting. I really hope it's not as bad this time around
cantaloupe / 6669 posts
@Anagram: I felt the same way. I wanted to sweat out my enormous, freakish cankles!
But yes - it was intense!!!
pomegranate / 3127 posts
Yes! For some reason it was only my feet. My shoes constantly felt like they had water in them, ick!
apricot / 347 posts
Yes. It was disgusting and smelly. I remember all the January mamas talking about how gross we were PP. Lots of smelly icky sweat, even when we weren't hot. Hormones...

Yes!! I thought I was going crazy as it was winter, freezing in our room but I was basically naked on top of the comforter and sweating everywhere. I finally looked it up and realized it was normal and would stop.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
Yes it was awful after having both girls! I would wake up drenched, washing sheets daily!
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
Yup- super sweaty. I remember in the hospital they had the plastic liners on the pillows and it made it even worse. I did lose the baby weight pretty quickly, I wonder if there is a correlation.

Super sweaty combined with leaky breast milk smell residue (sour milk smell). I was a hot mess and really didn't enjoy entertaining all those visitors right away,
grapefruit / 4321 posts
Yes and I was so mad at all my mommy friends for not telling me that was going to happen. I thought I was dying!
