I did not. The first time I got pregnant I wanted to try ASAP, so right after we got married. Even though I know how awful it is to be pregnant in the summer now, I still didn't want to plan. When we were ready, we started TTC right away. My only thing was that I didn't want to have a baby the same month as LO so I would have time to plan and throw two parties and not go crazy, and I didn't want the due date to be the same as for when I miscarried. I lucked out and I'm having a December baby

Not really-- we planned for it to be after a certain date when DH had a big test, but that was about it. And if we HAD planned around things like the heat of the summer, I think it would have been worse-- I'm going to be super pregnant during the summer but I'd actually prefer that to having morning sickness during the summer, which I wouldn't have expected.

Sort of. We were aiming for DH's bday (for our #2). LOL. It was silly. It ended up being a month later. I didn't really care. We just tried both times when I felt ready and didn't think too much about it because who knows when it will stick.

G was totally unplanned, P was planned to avoid pregnancy in the summer, & I REALLY want a February baby for our next but that isn't likely... I do for sure know we will avoid the other 2 munchkins birth months.

Nope. I would have loved to have a spring due date because I'd have maternity leave and then summer. But, after 13 months of TTC with a m/c, it didn't matter to me at all and I'm having a November baby.

Yes. That is why i'm not currently pregnant. I desperately want a May or June baby. If it wasn't for my insistence on that, i'd probably be pregnant right now!
The first time, I did not even think about the birth month, I just wanted to finish school before my son was born. I graduated college at 5/6m pregnant, so I made it!

We wanted a summer baby, so we timed our trying. I got pregnant in November, so we have an August baby, born 7 days before DH's birthday.

So funny, last time we visited my parents, my mom said to me right before we left: "If you're thinking about starting a family, plan for a May baby because the weather gets really nice around then!" Haha, it came out of no where. At first I thought her comment was the most inane thing ever, but my mom's totally right. I would love to have a May baby but the funny thing about the TTC Bug is that you wanna get KU right away! We'll see when it actually happens though.

We did. My job is seasonal and so it made sense for us to try in a particular season. Having a winter baby would be a positive business wise but we would have made it work even if the timing didnt match up!

We would have planned for May, but didn't. That's just the way it worked out. We definitely didn't plan for February, but again, that's the way things came out.
We have party season in this household that starts in early May and extends through mid July thanks to our birthdays and anniversary. We're so glad that little M. gets celebrated at her own special time!

Yes, my husband is off from teaching all summer (professor) so I wanted a summer baby. I wanted to start TTC after my 30th birthday, but we neglected to use protection a month prior to my 30th and bam, pregnant. LO was born 2 days after my husband stopped teaching, so really, it could not have been more ideal!

We are due almost a week before Christmas...we definitely did not plan that! That being said, we started TTC shortly after getting married and it took us almost a year to get pregnant, but we knew going in there might be some difficulties, so the last thing on my mind was giving up months trying to try and get a certain month.

@artbee: we didn't plan for DD because she was a surprise pregnancy, but we did plan DS. I didn't want an end of the year holiday baby, so anything from January to August was fair game. We got our feb baby which worked out because DD is born in Jan so we don't have to deal with celebrating two bdays in one month.

Only to avoid another January baby since we have a lot of January birthdays and a lot of holiday expenses then.
With C we didn't plan anything, we just wanted a baby! C's birthday was perfect since our holiday break started a few weeks before my due date, so I just planned to stop teaching then and didn't have any pressure over when to start leave.

Yes, and we got what we were hoping for. Based on certain statistics mostly talked about in the book Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell, the most successful people are born in January, February, March, and April. The theory is that kids born these months are older than their peers in school, especially in sports due to the way they are grouped by age, and because of that, they are naturally a bit faster, stronger, and taller than those they're grouped with that were born in the Fall. I'm a January baby, DD1 is April, LO2 will arrive sometime late Jan/ Early Feb. Not sure it really has any truth, but it was kind of a half joke thing for us--hubby just really dreams of a pro baseball player son, haha!

Not at all! We're having a September baby so I'll be in the latter stages at the hottest time of the year, which depending on how that goes I might try and mix it up a bit next time and try for a Spring baby.

Nope. Both of our babies have been surprises. Their birthdays will be 1.5-2 months apart and neither are holiday babies. I think it worked out nicely. The only bad thing is that I end up spending the later part of my pregnancy in the summer. I don't think it'll be so bad here but it was rough in the Georgia heat!

I wanted to have LO arrive from September to March. My husband travels all summer for work, so I wanted to avoid having a freshly minted human right as he had to leave.

Yes. we were fortunate to not have trouble conceiving too -it happened the first month we tried. We really wanted a summer baby due to our work schedules. LO was born May 28 so that worked out!

We would like a spring baby. I'm not dying to be pregnant as of last week so we are currently ok with waiting another year to start trying as I'm starting a new position. Many may think its crazy (I made a post asking as much lol), but that's what we are going with. Now come October I may be singing a different tune, but I'm a summer baby so that would be great too!

kind of--i wanted to avoid a summer baby because i am awful with heat & humidity, but i wouldn't have stopped trying if we started getting towards 9 months before summer. i ended up with a january baby.

yep! we just so happened to start trying in March but I really wanted a Christmas baby. DS arrived on December 17.

I just wanted to avoid being due the month before or after my BFFs destination wedding. We got pregnant just outside that window so I was still able to travel.

The only month I didn't want a baby was January, and our baby is due January 7th. Ohhh, the universe works in amazing ways. Of course, now I wouldn't change it.

We weren't actively trying, but it worked out perfectly. I work in education with a public school schedule, and DD is due first week of July.

@citymouse: Exact same for me! I'm off work in the winter so while we weren't exactly TRYING to time it...we were really hoping we would succeed in the first couple of months so it would time out well. Just so happened when we decided to start TTC it would work out. And it did!

Sort of? I work in education and I have busy periods in August, September, December, and January. I wanted to have a Spring baby (March/April) as those months coincide with a lull in my schedule. But we started TTC a month early, and BAM, February baby... it might be okay with my work schedule as long as baby doesn't come early.
