A simple poll: Did you use pull-ups or the like for your LO? If so, do you feel like this helped or hindered their potty training progress? (Not referring to cloth training pants like the gerber ones, just the disposable diaper like ones)

Yep we used them for naps and overnights for a month? maybe two? It helped with the transition to potty training during sleep and gave me a good gauge of when he was "ready" to go to underwear (after several weeks of waking dry most mornings).

We tried them for a couple of weeks, and in our experience they definitely hindered potty training. There was little progress forward while we used them. Went to straight underwear and LO had 4 accidents the first day. 2 the second day and 1 or 0 per day for the next few weeks. We’re now about 3 weeks out from day 1 of underwear and she very rarely has an accident and stays dry for naps and mostly overnights.

Nope. I decided to wing it and potty train for naps and overnight at the same time. LO did surprisingly well from the beginning and never had an issues.
My sister is currently potty training her 2.5 year old and doesn't use pull ups. She just puts her LO in a diaper for naps and overnight.

We didn't use pull ups. Switched to underwear one morning and never looked back, although we still use diapers for nap & night. I think that using pull ups during the day would have been very confusing.

We used diapers for naps/overnights and underwear during the day. The reviews I read on pull-ups felt more negative than positive so I opted to skip them.

We tried a couple times because she still peed at night. She was fairly young but I think she got confused where she could and couldn't pee then since the pull ups held the pee. She started having accidents. I guess it could have been a coincidence since we stopped and never tried pull-ups again.

We didn't use them for months but was still using diapers for naps, overnight and long car trips. We switched because she was having trouble at day care and I didn't want them to give up on her. So we don't use them all the time but just in certain circumstances. I think my parents using them when camping set her back because they were using them instead of undies which we didn't do. Now we're back on track and I think they helped us through a regression.

we used them for a short time and they hindered potty training. the training underwear were better since they can feel the wetness. you can use pull ups over training underwear so they don't get their clothes wet.

We just did underwear cold turkey when we potty trained. We were using cloth though. We are still using a diaper for overnight but will tackle that when things calm down for us to focus on it.

Only for sleeping...they hindered the process when he wore them while awake, as they didn't feel different enough from diapers
