I waited with DS. He climbed out at 18 months and everyone told me I better move to a bed - no thanks! Kept him in the crib and he never climbed out again.

Right before age 3 he was climbing out repeatedly so we moved him then.

I would wait

We switched ahead of time. LO never tried to climb out, and would probably still love to sleep in her crib if we would let her. It's nice because she sleeps better and longer in the twin, but bedtime is a pain. We transitioned in October, and it still takes forever to get her to stay in bed every night.

We didn't wait...our guy is quite the monkey but I wanted to make sure we moved him before he figured it out so that we can still use the pack and play when we travel.

We were hoping to stay ahead of it, but at 2 years, 4 months, LO climbed out of his crib this weekend. We immediately took the front of his crib off and put up a rail until we can get his new room finished!

We just switched last night to a twin bed, even though he hasn't tried climbing! He has a few times done the leg swing, but we switched him out of default cause I didn't want to buy another crib!

A juuuuuuuust started doing the same thing!!! She's never actually gotten out though. She seems to be testing her limits but she won't actually do it. We're keeping the crib for now but I'm thinking about switching thus summer sometime

We actually put the crib mattress on the floor (still inside the crib - but without the metal railing holding it up...I'm spacing out and I can't think of what it's called) until DS was a few months shy of 3.

We waited, and then waited some more. He started crawling out around 18 months and we kept him in the crib until around 27-28 months. He just became really good at crawling in and out of the crib. We didn't have a toddler rail, so we went straight into a twin bed because it seemed like he needed more room. It was a very smooth transition.

DS never tried to climb out. We switched to a bed because I was having major back problems and couldn't get him in and out of his crib. We switched when he was around 2. Can't remember exactly when.
