At two different times of the night, I could have sworn my lo was drunk off sugar. One time she stumbled sideways into a chair. The other time, she started to talk to me and a friend. She laughed, hiccuped and then toppled over.

Haha! We only let her have one little bag of M&Ms so she was ok. She's young enough that she doesn't really understand how much candy there is (though old enough to know she wants more!). She was more overwhelmed by the activity and so many people.

@mediagirl: Haha, so funny! A and B didn't have any candy last night, but they had suckers on Friday. I didn't notice any change from the suckers, but a couple weeks ago they ate some birthday cake and they were bouncing off the walls!

Lo is just a few months over 2, so we don't give her candy yet. She had a dum dum lollipop, but only ate about half before trashing it. I always thought the sugar rush thing was a myth?? Does it really happen? Not looking forward to that if it does.
eta: LO eats graham crackers sometimes and those are pretty high in sugar for "crackers" and she's never been affected, so maybe sugar isn't a big deal for her.

Nope, but we did let her have more sugar yesterday than we typically do. But I spaced it throughout the day and only let her have two when we came back from ToT-ing.

She had a hard time falling asleep last night, but that could have been sugar or excitement. She was having a really hard time listening to us today though- and she definitely had more candy than usual.

Yes but more from my birthday cake & treats than the one candy we allowed. I've never seen LO so crazy (and then cranky). I had birthday cake and TOTing every Halloween growing up but now I think my parents were insane.

Thankfully, nope! His bucket got full after a few houses so we dumped his candy into a plastic bag. He thought it was so cool so after a few houses, he kept asking to dump/empty his bucket even though it wasn't full yet. By the time we got back to the house, he totally forgot about all his candy!
