If so, how long did it last?
B (almost 12 months) has always loved the bath. However, the past 2 days he screamed bloody murder throughout the whole bath, refused to sit, and kept trying to climb out.
Please tell me this doesn't last long.

Not really, but sometimes she just wants nothing to do when a bath. Then a couple days later, they're awesome again

Yep. From 9-13 months he screamed through the whole bath and tried to climb out the whole time. Then all of a sudden he was ok. I woudl maybe try a new toy? Bath crayon maybe?

We went through it at around 10 months. Lasted about 4-5 days then was back to normal and enjoying baths again.

My husband bathed with my son every bath for 2 months before it got better!

We have had several bath hating periods, can't remember what ages but they always went away. I would sometimes buy a new toy to help and sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. Now at 31 months he doesn't want to get in the bath because he knows it bedtime after but once he gets in he never wants to get out, go figure! Crazy toddlers.

Thanks for the ideas! I'll buy some new toys (@hilsy85: Great idea with the crayon) and try bathing with him. I don't think I can stand several months of screaming!

@rahlyrah: around the same time! Got some new toys and he stop screaming bloody murder.

I can't remember when it started. It lasted several weeks and now he's back to agreeing to get in. He still doesn't like rinsing his hair though. Our tactic was to force a bath 2-3 times a week (I'd get in with him but he still screamed the whole time) and offer all the other days but let him choose if he wanted to get in. He's 20 months now.

We went through this around 9 months. It lasted about a week and then things were great again. Fast forward to now and we are back at hating baths. I can usually make him tolerate them if I splash and, much to my dismay, give him a soother.
We also try to rotate toys.
I hope it doesn't last long!

He did for about a month at 8 months old. He got weird because we traveled I think and the sound of our friends high water pressure scared him. I kind of eased him back in one day at a time. Good luck

For about a week at 14 months...we gave her bath toys and now she LOVES baths.

Oh yes, around the 12 month mark and it lasted about a month, then it blew over just like any other phase! So weird...

Yes, a couple of times. Things that worked for us were to keep the tap running (DS loves playing with the running water) and to blow bubbles (DS gets super excited by bubbles). And he also refuses to sit so now we bath him standing up, he'll crouch down to play with the water but he refuses to let his bum touch the bath. Crazy boy.

D has hated baths since birth. He's more compliant now that he can shower but he still hates getting his head wet.

We are going through this now at 17 months! He'll flip out and say no when we wash his hair and then after that he is happier and splashing...

Oh yes. It went on for months and months. It was between 14 and 20 months.

Every day of his freaking life. The second he touches the water he starts wailing and proceeds to sit there and sob until it's over. You would think 'oh, he must just not like being in the water or getting head wet', right? But he LOVES swimming lessons, even when I dunk him underwater at the pool he thinks it's great. I don't understand!!!!
