I think I switched at 3 or 4 months?

We probably switched a little late. We were so wrapped up in trying to bottle feed her in a way that helped her breast feed (paced feeding technique, low flow nipple etc) that when it became harder and harder to bottle feed her, it didn't occur to us to switch the nipple flow. Whoops!
Once we did at 5 months, stopped doing the paced thing and started warming the bottles (she didn't used to care about temp), bottle feeding got way easier. Now she eats like a champ, no more crying.
She still won't nurse but I'm now over it. (kind of)

I've been wondering abut this! LO is nearly 4 months but we haven't made the switch yet.

I never did. I feel like all that flow stuff was just a gimmick to sell more supplies!
My daughter is still using premie nipples at 13 months!

Never did. DS was BF until 9 months and bottle fed at daycare from 2+ months and he refused a medium flow nipple, even after we stopped BFing.

I've been wondering about this too... DD is 3 months, but I still don't feel like she's ready. We don't really BF anymore (just for comfort), but she can still choke on her bottle every once in awhile.
I think that's her problem though... she likes to let the milk sit in her mouth before taking a big swallow, then she chokes and coughs. Silly baby...

Never did. I read that as long as the baby tolerates the slowest flow one, don't change. He has never complained, and if the slower flow helps mimic the breast better, then that works for us.

@Mrs. Jacks: That's how I feel now, but I already have all the nipples from shower gifts (unwrapped and washed them even, so can't take them back), so I feel like I should use them... haha

We never switched. LO is a year and has the same slow flow she had as a newborn.

Never. P is 12 months & she just recently stayed the weekend with grandma using her slow flow nipples!

@swurlygurl: As long as you have a well established breast feeding pattern and your baby has no other issues, I don't think it really matters. You can just throw them into the rotation

Just before 3 months. LO was taking over an hour to eat, and the formula is only good for an hour.

We never have, and won't at this point, we're just about to start bottle weaning. It takes him a while to finish a bottle, but he never complained and I didn't want it to interfere with breastfeeding.

we never did. he weaned himself from a bottle around 9 months... he was teething and it hurt his gums!

never switched... if you think about it, womens nipples never change, from slow flow to medium or fast flow.

We just switched at 9 months. We had to buy new nipples anyway so I decided just to go ahead and buy the medium flow ones. I don't think there was as huge different to be honest.

We tried to switch at about 11 months because it seemed like LO wanted more faster! But it was too much for LO because the milk came out too fast so we are back to the orginal ones. ^_^ He's 13 months now and still drinking the "slow" nipples.
