I don't have personal experience, but my almost 3 yo niece is still in a crib. She turns 3 in May, and as far as I know, they plan on keeping her in there for quite some time. She was a pretty terrible sleeper until she was about 2, so I guess now that it works, why change it?

I think mrs wagon's son is still in a crib and he's over 3!

LO is only 20 months but I'm not looking forward to the day she's out of the crib. She'll hopefully be out before 3 though because we want to get her a toddler bed and give baby #2 her crib, so it just depends when that happens.

@artbee: My LO sleeps so well in there right now...I'm afraid to make the transition when she is 18-19 months. Maybe I will buy a second crib!

My niece stayed in a crib until she was almost 4! I think it was mostly because my sister was lazy and kept putting off buying a bed for her.

I would've loved for my son to continue sleeping in his crib but we ended up transitioning to floor bed at around 18 months because he kept waking up in the middle of the night wanting to sleep on the floor mattress.

I was planning to have my son in a crib until he turned 4, but he had other plans.

@autumnlove: You should get a crib if you think it's best for your LO! Most of them can convert to a toddler bed now a days anyway so when you're ready you can do that.
Plus there's already going to be a lot of change for her with a new baby in the house, I think I'd try to avoid change if possible. That being said..... we're planning on moving LO's room when we have #2 so the baby is closer to us. I guess I can't talk.
