Mine did with Charlie. It was like a waterfall while I was in the waiting room! Soaked through everything I was wearing including the seat I was sitting on.
With Olive the doctor broke my water and then I was ready to push pretty quickly after that.

Yep, both times! The first time was a slow trickle and the second time it was very dramatic and basically what you see in the movies

I voted other. It broke while I was pushing! It sprayed way out past the end of the bed. Luckily the midwife had good reflexes and ducked out of the way!

Mine was broken in the hospital by a (supervised) intern when I was at 9cm.

Mine started as a slow trickle. Then when I was getting my epidural I had a pretty intense contraction and it ended up gushing out all over the nurses shoes. I felt pretty bad. But she said it happens a lot!

First time they broke it in the hospital.
Second time water broke at 5am, contractions started an hour or two later.

Doctor broke it the first time. Second time, J more or less broke it while they waited for the antibiotics to hit the 4 hour mark.

Yup, it did at 28 weeks (PPROM) and has continued leaking for almost 6 weeks now but no signs of labor! Induction at 34 weeks is tentatively scheduled in 2 days!! I'm told that if they have to, they'll break my water if they have to. The leak might be higher up and dr mentioned they might break the fore bag.

Big pop and a gush, followed by more gushes with every contraction for a while. I was already in the hospital bed, had C an hour or two later.

I had a trickle with LO1. LOs head was so low it blocked the flow so the .midwife pushed her back in/up to let the fluid it. No idea what happened with #2. I wore depends to the hospital to protect the car. They were dry when I entered Triage. 15 minutes later I had a baby. I was bummed I didn't feel it break either time.

yep. that was the start of my labor! right on the hardwood floors and a couple more times when i tried to put on shoes.

Yep. A slow trickle on the toilet at 37+5. Contractions started shortly after. I think it sealed itself up though cause free 36 hours of labor the midwife said there was a bag bulging when I was pushing so she broke it.

Nope – the doctors broke mine in an attempt to get labor going for me during my induction. It didn't work and I ended up having a C-section.

First time it broke spontaneously as I was walking up the stairs (38+6).
Second time it broke as I was pushing (6 mins of pushing!)

My water broke at 4am on the day I was to be induced. I felt a pop in my sleep & knew exactly what had happened. I leapt up to shuffle to the bathroom before it gushed all over. Lol! Contractions started within about 30mins, but I didn't actually deliver until 23hrs later.

With DS it broke, then contractions started after that.
With DD I was labouring for hours before the doctor broke it. It didn't speed up my labour however, as she was kind of sideways and it took hours to get rid of my cervical lip.

Dr broke it at 4cm. I was stalled with intense contractions. After he broke my water I dilated rapidly.

yep! 39 weeks exactly. I hope it happens the same way the next time.

Yes, exactly how you see it in the movies. lol. I was having early labour contractions for 24 hours... They were terrible and coming every 3-5 minutes but not progressing. My midwife came to check me and told me to get some rest. I was dozing on the couch and heard a loud pop come from my belly. I jumped up off the couch and it gushed all over the floor! It was crazy.

Other - I had a high leak that prompted me to go to l&d. They couldn't determine if it was fluid until they saw the ferning since I literally had a small leak then nothing else for hours.. Then when I was pushing the doc realized it hadn't broken and broke it.

My OB broke it for big sister. It broke on its own after 3 hours of pitocin for little sister. Both times I was glad I was already in the hospital with pads under me. I'm so glad it broke on its own the second time. I was feeling kinda sad thinking I may never experience that since we aren't sure if we are having more

I was induced so the OB broke it for me. I had very low amniotic fluid levels so not much came out. I would feel a trickle every now and then.

No, the doctor broke my water. Side note, can manually breaking your water scratch the baby's head? Lorelei was born with a big scratch on her forehead. I delivered without forceps or a vacuum so I'm not sure what else could have caused the scratch if not the tool they used to break my water?

broke on its own both times. With DS, it broke when I started pushing. With DD, it was the start of my labor. Broke while I was walking at the mall.

Hard to say. I was induced, and at some point the doc came in and tried to manually break my water, but it didn't really seem to work. Later on, I sat up to have my epidural placed, and had an insane amount of fluid gushing with every contraction, so I wonder if that was really my water breaking. I voted Other, ha!

Nope I was induced and a doctor broke it and I didn't feel a thing b/c I already had my epidural in!

Big gush at home both times. It was the first sign of labor with DD1 and only 45 minutes after I started wondering if this was it for DD2.
