I had braces for like 6 years... and a retainer before and after that for a few years! I had really bad teeth as a child lol.

Twice!! First time only on my front 4 teeth to move them closer so my other teeth could come in better (I had an upper lip tie that caused a huge gap). Then a retainer. The second time I had them on all my teeth to fix and straighten everything. And retainers again, that I lost so a few teeth moved back. and I have a permanent retainer on my two front top teeth.

I had them for 18 months.

I currently have Invisalign. My teeth were busted, but we could never afford braces. I just got them about 2 months ago...11 months to go

I had them for 3 years in junior high and then got them again after college for 18 months because my teeth had shifted back. Now i have permanent retainers.

yep! I wore them for about a year freshman year in high school. I wore a retainer for 2 years prior to that.
