Our baby is 20 weeks old and for the last couple of weeks we've noticed a rough patch of skin, about the size of a quarter, on the right side of his abdomen above his belly button. It has some raised bumps, as if he had permanent goosebumps there. There is no discoloration but the skin has gotten a bit rougher with time.

I tried describing this to the nurse at his doctor's office, but she seemed to understand it as a patch of dry skin and told us to put Vaseline or aquaphor on it. It's not dry skin, it's very distinct, and it doesn't respond to lotion.

Does it sound familiar to anyone? Google isn't helping. I think I'm going to have the Dr check it out because I'm worried it's a fungal infection or a reaction to his 2 month shots. Help!
