Most Kindergarten teachers at our local elementary school don't give their students any hugs or kisses! I'm sure the school has their reasons... but I remember that my Kindergarten teacher was affectionate with her students, and it made a big difference to me at that young age.
Do teacher where you live give out hugs or kisses to the kids?

As a Kindergarten teacher myself I do "side hugs and high fives". That being said, sometimes a kid just really needs a "real" hug so I will use my professional judgement and give one. I never ever ever give kisses though.

Not kisses but definite hugs. Heck my 5th graders sometimes give me hugs.

I'm a pre-k teacher and I give tons of hugs every day, but never kisses.

As a teacher, I was told by my principal to "hug the kids" and my assistant principal to never touch them. This was my life.
But I totally hugged them (I always gave a choice at the beginning or end of the day--hug, hand shake, or high five. But they spontaneously hugged all the time! I had one little boy who chose hand shake every day until the very last morning, when I got a hug! It was awesome.)

@Jess1483: My sons sixth grade teacher have that choice every Friday! I thought it was great 
My younger kids aren't in school yet, I can only recall his preschool (his Aunt) giving hugs, then the teacher I mentioned above.

I hugged my 7th/8th grade students. Not daily, or even monthly, but sometimes kids need a hug!

Hugs and kisses. I think there was a release form or survey about it!

I hug them and do "boo boo" kisses (even for my 10 year olds). *kiss my fingers, and put my fingers on the bandaid* It ALWAYS garners a smile from the older kids who think they're tough.
I don't do kisses at all. 1) young kids in K - 2 are germy and gross. 2) to cover my own butt, we're not supposed to "touch" kids in anyway and were advised of the 3 second rule, especially male teachers.

I teach 3rd and 4th special Ed. I hug daily. No kisses though, I feel like that's asking for trouble.

My son's preschool teacher hugs him all the time and tells him she loves him when he leaves some days. I'm glad she's so affectionate. I doubt they kiss, though. I've never seen a teacher kiss a kid anywhere but on a boo boo.
I think I hugged teachers all the way through high school. Mostly on the last day or as a congratulations at that age.

When I was an elementary school librarian, I side-hugged all the time! But also did other stuff, like high fives and cheek pinches.
