Several years ago I was very hesitant to set up online accounts because I wasnt sure how secure they were. Now I am comfortable with online banking but have never checked my accounts from my smartphone. I just worry that its not secure enough especially with so many apps running on the phone. Do you access your bank accounts from your phone? Do you worry about hackers?

I access it and never worry about hackers. Don't know why.

I do but my brother (the techie) tells me not to view financial stuff from my phone.

I don't access my bank account from my phone, just because I'm scared of what would happen if I lost it! I have a blackberry and the screen's a lot smaller than most smartphones, so I don't think it would be convenient, and not a lot of places have blackberry apps anymore.

I do, but the app is password protected, so I'm not too worried about it. I use citizens bank and love it!!

Nope. I do from my iPAD but my iPAD is only wifi (not 3G) and I only access my banking when I'm connected to the wifi network in my home which is password protected.

Yeah, I do. My password isn't saved and I have to use two passwords (my real account password and an online access account).

I work for an internet security company, and you should be fine accessing stuff from your phone if you're using 3G or your own home wireless network. I would not advise using public wifi to check financial information.

I deposit checks using my phone because our bank (usaa) doesn't have physical locations.

i do! i don't do it on open wifi spots (like bookstores etc), but if i'm on a trusted network or on my cellular provider, i'm not that worried. maybe if i had more to loose =D

I have the app and access it constantly...I guess I'm just to trusting. In my defense: I don't have it linked to my primary account. Meaning: my mortgage, insurance and direct deposits are not linked to this account. We use this account that I have on my phone only for leisure. So, it would be bad if it got hacked but not deeply detrimental to our lives.

Yup. All the time. I figure both my bank account and credit cards are insured.
