Nope. I don't feel like there is enough in there to empty!

I do every time! I have this fear of the dryer catching on fire. I think I have this because of my mom. She always used to tell me how dangerous dyers are because her friend's house caught on fire and it originated with the dryer. I am sure it had nothing to do with the lint trap, but now that's all I think about!
Edit: Reading all of these other posts, maybe it did have to do with the lint trap!

Yes! I couldn't live with myself if I caused a fire from not doing something so simple.

@Sunshine1810: it's also important to make sure the exhaust duct is regularly cleaned!

OMG I'm crazy about the lint trap. I always empty it as soon as the load comes out of the dryer, then I often check it again before starting another load.

It's habit for me to do it as I take the clothes out! So I do it every time. Since I currently live in an apartment and have to share laundry, I do it before and after just to cover my bases!

eek! okay. HAHAHA there's barely anything in there after just one load though!

I probably do it once every two times but this thread reminds me to do it every time!

@chopsuey119: yeah, a few specks? is that gonna cause a fire?

Also, don't forget to remove the trap to clean the lint that gets stuck underneath!!!
My FIL has been in the HVAC biz his whole life so we take this stuff seriously!

Every time! Not worried about fires but it takes forever to dry!

Every time. I guess we create a lot of lint, because there's always a significant amount there. And if I'm going to check it, might as well just throw it away while I'm at it.

Always! My husband is a firefighter and you would be surprised at the number of dryer fires he goes to every year. I'd rather take the extra few seconds than have my house burn down. We clean out the vent and everything yearly. We should do it more often though...

@MrsCB: we have a ton of lint too. haha.
we have an ancient dryer, and the lint trap is one of those ones that goes deep into the back of the dryer. so i have no way of getting in there to clean it aside from the screen itself!

Yep! We are linty ppl. It's in the bathroom & the dryer makes the bathroom super dusty and I think if I didn't empty it each time it would be worse! And the clothes would take longer to dry (or that's just in my head!) and of course fires.

yes, every time! I kind of enjoy taking it off! hahahah I'm a weirdo though
apricot / 432 posts
@MrsBrewer: haha, I'm the same way. I get some weird satisfaction out of knowing how much lint a load of laundry has generated!

@Sophia: LOL yes! Me too!
I actually just stopped using fabric softener and dryer sheets, and now I'm getting SOOO much less lint. I guess it's a good thing, but still....lol

Yes, if we don't our dryer will beep at you and not run until you do
pear / 1693 posts
Every time! Not worth the fire risk to me. Some loads have barely any, others seem to have a ton. So I pull it out just in case.
