I went to visit our LO's future daycare today (she's 5.5 weeks, and starting part-time around 10 weeks), and they mentioned that if we use a specific diaper cream, we should bring it along with the diapers and wipes. It occurs to me that we've never actually used anything down there other than wipes. (We have a girl, and we use disposables, if that makes a difference to your comments.) If there's no problem/rash/whatever else, do you use something every time anyway? Sometimes? What do you recommend?

We only do if she's looking red or spotty. The we use Butt Paste or we have Nystatin for when it gets really bad.

We use Aveeno Diaper Cream when she gets a little red. At 3.5 months she still poops about 5 times a day, so if I notice she is getting red I just put some on (maybe 3 times a week). I have also used Aquaphor and Destin, but prefer the Aveeno, because of the consistency and it is fragrance free.

DD is 9 weeks old, in cloth diapers, and we've never had to use any sort of cream.
I have coconut oil on standby though, in case she ever gets a rash

We use Angel Baby Bottom Balm only when he starts getting red down there. We CD, though, otherwise I'd swear by Buttpaste.

LO is 10 weeks and we use Sudocrem at night only. She STTN and we don't change her during the night so I use it for extra protection. She hasn't ever had a rash, I use it preventatively.

I always use A&D ointment at every diaper change.

If she is looking mildly irritated:
Layer of Burt's Bees Diaper Cream
If she is looking really rashy:
Layer of baby Aquaphor, Layer of Burt's Bees Diaper Cream on top of that. This combination is really soothing for her it seems like, and clears up the rash very quickly.

I only put cream on if his bum is red and irritated. Otherwise it's just a simple wet cloth wipe.

Only when a rash occurs did we apply a cream. For cloth I preferred Earth Mama Angel Baby's Angel Baby Bottom Balm or CJ's BUTTer. For disposables, I swear by Dr. Smith's.

i said every time, because we use coconut oil with each diaper change. i'm not sure if it makes a difference, but it makes me feel better.
if it looks a little red down there, we use desitin.

We don't use anything unless she looks red and then we use BabyGanics.

We use Desitin everytime when we notice redness, otherwise about once a day.

We use Desitin after she poops if it's pretty red. Sometimes after her bath at night, before her nighttime diaper she gets ointment too.

We use triple paste if he's red. If not, I don't do anything for his daytime diapers, but I use aqua phor or earth mama bottom balm before his bedtime diaper bc we don't change him at night anymore.

We've really never used anything and she's never had a rash. The hospital and our pediatric practice advise against using something all the time; so we don't.

At that age we rarely used any sort of cream. We had more issues when we started solids. Then we used Dr. Smiths if we noticed any redness. We also have Nystatin for when Dr Smiths isn't enough (typically we encounter yeast infections with antibiotics). After our most recent encounter with antibiotics we turned to Corona (not sold in your average store) or Triple Paste. I use one of them on her probably once a week after a poopy diaper to clear up some tenderness. She's now 19 months old.

We only put something on if he's red. We have been using Earth Mama Angel Baby Bottom Balm but I just got in a container of CJ's BUTTer o try when we run out. I like the Earth Mama, but wanted to try something new just to see.

We try to use coconut oil at every change and if he's red/bumpy we use resinol.

Never, except I don't use wipes unless it's just a pee... I always wash with soap and water.

Only if there is a rash- I switch around between Desitin Advanced, Butt Paste, and Coconut oil. Different rashes respond to different things, I just try stuff until something works.

S is super-extra sensitive, so we use either EMAB balm or coconut oil with every diaper change. We cloth diaper.

I use powder for every regular diaper, and if she's looking red or irritated I use butt paste instead. She hasn't had any diaper rashes yet, so this has worked for us!

I do coconut oil with the first cloth diaper during the day and a layer of the target brand desitin in her disposable at night. I guess it feels like it is preventative?

LO is only 2 weeks old and we've just used BabyGanics Non-Petroleum Protective Ointment about half the time for prevention. I mostly dab it on the areas that look a little red (usually around the elastic areas). No rashes yet.
