Bee and I haven't found a favorite restaurant in our neighborhood that we both like! Hopefully that changes once the kids get older and we can start getting babysitters...
Do you and your SO have a favorite restaurant in your neighborhood?

Our favorite restaurant is about a 5 min drive down the road in our town's center!

People actually drive fROM the city OUT to our suburb to go to this restaurant. The food is amazing. I've never been disappointed by a single dish I've had there. One birthday we pooled the money we would have spent on gifts for each other and a dinner out with each other and took our closest friends to dinner there. We splurged on everything and had an amazing time!
We love that it's so close by because if we go there and hire a babysitter, if anything goes wrong at home, one of us can just pop home and come back.
Now, if only a Melting Pot were that close by....

Hmm...we have a few restaurants that are our favorites for specific things...like we have a fave breakfast place, a fave pasta/Italian place, a fave dinner spot, etc. I don't know if we have an overall #1 restaurant!

Not really, nothing's that special in our neighborhood. We usually drive into the city for our faves.

Yep! Our favorite place in our neighborhood is a Cajun restaurant. The owners are from Baton Rouge, and so is my DH.

We have favorites for pizza, Mexican, etc but not overall.

We have one overall favorite (but it is a little more expensive), and then 1-2 second-tier favorites.

Yep, it's about a 5 minute drive and they know Prettybaby by name. It's kid friendly enough that if we go early we can bring her and no one minds, but adult friendly enough that if we get a sitter we really enjoy sitting in the pub and having a few drinks.

Since I live in NYC I'm going to narrow it down to a 5 block radius and our favorite fancy place is Dovetail and more casual is Papardella.

There's only about 2 real restaurants near us (besides chain fast food/pizza, yes, we live in the boonies), and it's a Mexican restaurant DH works at on the weekends and its SUPER popular, and oh so yummy. People drive over an hour just to go there.

We had a favorite Japanese place near our old house.

We have a favorite for each type of food! A great mexican place, great gourmet burger joint, favorite sandwich shop, etc. I think if my DH had to pick it would be the mexican restaurant, but I have too many favorites!

there's a chinese restaurant nearby that serves hand-pulled and hand-sliced noodle dishes--yum!

@mrbee: I have lots of favorite restaurants where my sister lives in Park Slope, but she's not too close to you. We always go to the same places when we visit because we love them so much so we're never trying out new things.
A seafood restaurant just opened up downtown that we love. And they have outside seating which is great because it means dog friendly.

We have a favorite but it isn't really in our "neighborhood" since we live in a subdivision and there isn't anything but fast food nearby. We found it by accident when we were dating and it is our "go to" with or without the kids in tow.

Yes we do! We actually have a few. One of our casual favorites is an italian place that we had our rehearsal dinner at.

Nope! There are only 2 "restaurants" nearby and they're both pizza places. =(

@mrbee: Dizzys and Naidres for breakfast, and Anthony's for dinner. There are a couple more places that we go but I never remember names. If you go to Anthony's and see super tall Australian guy that works there.... that's my BIL

Our favorite place for lunch and dinner is about a 10 minute walk from our current house and we go there almost every weekend. They know us so well they often take the kids off our hands for the last few minutes of our meal so DH and I can eat our food without a baby on our laps.

There's old, iconic hotel in my neighborhood that's also rated as the best restaurant in our county, but it's not really my type of food. I've only eaten there once though, so I haven't really given them a fair chance.
My favorite is a little cafe, more for the ambiance than anything else. It's owned by the sweetest Korean couple that happened to move into our town at around the same time we did. They serve sushi and pastries. Whenever I walk into there, I'm transported back to a familiar place. I live in a very Swedish looking town so having a place like that so close by is beyond comforting.

There's nothing really in our neighborhood but there are a couple of places close by that we visit a lot. One is a sushi place where the sushi comes by on a conveyor belt and you grab what you want. It's a fun place to eat! Another is a little Vietnamese place.

@mrbee: I clicked on this so hoping to find a good place in the neighborhood. Boo! I had many favorites in the East Village but haven't loved the places we've tried since we moving to Park Slope. One place we do like is Rosewater but it's on the spendy side. We haven't eaten out much (besides Seamless) since our LO was born.

Not anymore! We had tons when I lived in Santa Monica!

Out favorite local restaurant is 5 minutes away and our go to date night dinner spot. We order takeout often too. Can't beat 2 gourmet pizzas and a growler for local brew beer for $25. Food is consistently good, which is difficult to find these days.

We have a favorite taco joint up the street from us called Surf Taco. There are only a few along the shores of Jersey. Mmm.
