I usually don't if it's not a local number because it's always someone trying to sell me something. If it is local I will unless I've seen the number come up before and I'm not interested in talking.

I used to not but then we had a fiasco/address mix up with some hospital bills from LO's birth and one of the bills got sent to the wrong address and we didn't know it existed. We went to the bank 6 months later and realized our credit had been taking a hit! Turns out the bill had been sent to a collection agency. My husband was furious because we had never received a written notification or a phone call and it had been collecting at 12% interest!
Turns out, the collection agency had called me once and didn't leave a message. They are required to call but not leave a message which seems so wrong to me!
After that hassle, I always answer my phone if I don't recognize the number. Always!

nope. it makes mr. bird crazy, sometimes he'll call from a weird number if he's at the gym or calling from work, i don't answer. usually if they call more than once in a row i will, just because then it seems important.

Yes, I always try to....if it is a wrong number, most of the time they will call you back if you don't answer.

Yes. I get work calls forwarded to my cell, so I often don't recognize the number.

Yes because the only people who have my number on file are usually important (doctor's office, hospital, family etc) so it's nearly always something important.
