I never do - I just let it ring and then tell him when he gets back from wherever he was (bathroom, upstairs, outside, etc)
DH will answer my phone if its my mom but other than that he doesn't answer mine either

Nope, even if I know who it is. I'll yell and say "hey, so-an-so is calling you". He'll normally tell me to pick it up though, but I don't on my own.
If he knows who's calling on my phone, he'll pick it up if I'm not around.

Mostly not. If it is ringing when he isn't in the room I'll look to see who it is and yell to him whose calling, but generally he says he'll call them back in a few. Probably the only exception would be his mom, because usually when he talks to her we both do, so she's equally likely to call him vs. me and usually if he doesn't answer she calls me next anyways.

No, but he always asks me too. I refuse since its usually his (s)mother.

I have, but only if it's closer to me/he wouldn't get it in time and he says to answer it. Then I usually answer saying something like "Hi <mil's name>, it's <me>. hang on a sec and I'll give the phone to <dh>." Or the other night, my dad called me while we were eating dinner and I didn't answer, and then he called dh--I answered the phone then since he was clearly looking for me

I don't like too, it's so awkward! I've done it before tho and he always wants me to answer it!

No but if someone seems to be calling repeatedly I'll glance over to see who it is in case it's a work emergency. Once or twice I've just answered when I knew there was a work emergency and I knew the caller.

No. We don't answer each other's phone. I wouldn't mind if he picked up my phone if it's family, but he's probably thinking the same as me "ugh ILs...honey your phone is ringing" lol

LOL we got in an ENORMOUS fight about this the other day, mostly because my answer is "no" and his answer is "yes" and we've never really discussed it

Not unless he tells me to. I usually peek over and holler, "it's your mom, want me to answer?!" because sometimes he does. He always asks before answering mine, too

If I know who it is and if he wants me to, I will, but it rarely happens.

No, unless it's my family or a call we've been waiting for. If it's his work, family or friends, I let it go to voicemail.
honeydew / 7230 posts
No one really calls him except me or his mom. If I hear it vibrating and he's not around, I just let it go to voicemail then tell him someone called.
apricot / 355 posts
depends on who is calling. If it's his mom or a close friend, yes.

I never do, I actually don't even look at it when it rings. If he's expecting a call, I'll pay attention but either way I'll tell him he missed a call.

I would rather let it ring and go to voicemail than to answer, especially if my in-law's are calling. DH likes to answer my phone when I don't know the number.

Yes, but only if I know who it is and if I am close with that person. Like, his mother, or best friend, or one specific cousin. I usually answer obnoxiously too.

No, never. Personally I would find it off putting if I were calling a friend's cell and their spouse answered. I would prefer to just leave a message if the friend is busy....I don't like making small talk with randos.
